I've been a filmmaker in Los Angeles for decades and i've turned down more than one opportunity to work with him. My agent still doesn't get it. I have a strong moral compass and do my best at not affiliating with oddly homophobic fascists. Why would someone come to a city full of artists making films. Known around the world for being lgbt+-friendly. Then go around spouting violent homophobia?

Oh wow, that was so good to read, and the comments in here too. I belong to a channel that my family posts in. There's 6 of us and it's an even 50/50 of Evangelicals and atheists. We've had it for years, everyone keeps to themselves. It's for jokes, silly memes, sharing our cats, and just a great place.
Until today.
My nephew (in his 40s) posts this meme about Norris loving Jesus, being a family man, and all this good stuff.
I pointed out that he cheated on his wife & had a kid out of wedlock.

I'm pissed and disappointed and once again reminded how much my family can be toxic.
I've always respected their beliefs. Never preached at them when I was religious, never tried to de-convert them when I left religion, don't bring up hot topics, nada.

I honestly knew nothing of Chucks political views until today and I still dont care. Furthermore I think most people miss the point that all the chuck norris memes arent about that hes some kinda amazing badass, its more about he thinks he is and we were all just enjoying a laugh making fun of it. I get that a lot of people have bad views on things but you dont actually address any of that by attacking the person or trying to cancel them that just makes people double down on their shitty views.

Similar here too. Grew up in rural america so same people telling awful racist jokes were the ones enjoying the CN jokes a lot. Still baffles me how I ever found any of those funny, however briefly that time was. Young and dumb.
