Anyone else familiar with this theory?

Until I had kids and started reading these books again I would have sworn it was Berenstein and not Berenstain. I’m not alone...many people agree with me. This discrepancy has spawned the theory that we’re remembering an alternate history. According to the publisher it has always been Berenstain. How can so many people remember it incorrectly in the same way?

Mandela effect. Many people also think that they remember a movie with Sinbad as a genie, similar to the Shaq movie Kazaam. I know I saw it!

The government likes to change small, non important facts just to make us think we’re going crazy to create instability

Because "-stein" is such a common end part to last names that so many of our parents just pronounced it wrong.

It's because they made a tv show out of it, and we heard it as "Berenstein" a lot more often than we had to write it.

On the show it’s pronounced ‘stAin’

Famous line from Forrest Gump: "Momma always said life WAS like a box of chocolates." When most people remember IS like a box of chocolates.

It’s called the Mandela Effect. “Luke, I am your father” and similar childhood shit that never actually happened.

It’s called remembering things wrong, which happens a lot and to everyone.

So does bystander effect, bandwagon effect, pygmalion effect... that’s what makes it a thing. Just bc you’re a shit doesn’t make it untrue.
