They've already proven that citizenship is not an adequate defense to them detaining people. I can easily foresee them doing this, at least enough to generate media attention and scare some voters into staying home. Noem will claim that she's just ensuring that no non-citizens are voting, but it will be a terror campaign (it already it, but they will crank it up)

Not that I'd put it past them to station ICE agents at polling places, with the intent of voter intimidation, but that'll just be the stage performance. The real damage will be done backstage through the traditional means, of redistricting, closing polling stations, purging voter rolls, etc.

In blue areas, all voters need to ensure that their current (married/divorced/whatever) name is registered. All votes need to have every detail correct to count. Unless in red areas, obvs.

Assuming there are any more elections. Various steps about it were mentioned in project 2025. I wish more people would have read it; it's some scary shit. Trump even said as much about 'Not needing to vote anymore' or some bullshit like that. But yeah, the red hats are trying new tactics for voter suppression (look up the SAVE act), on top of all their old tricks. We are close to becoming a permanent dictatorship. Republicans are scum and those that vote for them are no better.

This absolutely why ICE was just funded more than nearly every military force on the planet, and why they're offering enormous sign-up bonuses and (salt in the wound) educational loan forgiveness. They want/need to onboard a LOT of new agents as quickly as possible, prior to midterms where they can be wielded first as an intimidation factor to keep people from showing up and then as a blunt instrument to selectively remove voters for 'reasons' or shut down polling places. It's very blatant.

It's frankly far easier to pretend that there is still a democracy, while forcing the population into political apathy, than it is to openly declare what you are.
There will be no point where it is clear that this is a dictatorship. The "transitionary stage" will be permanent until the population has disengaged and accepted politics as outside their reach. Authoritarians have learned over the past 100 year.

There is no reason they couldn't do it on election day. They obviously don't care about open displays of fascism. Unfortunately, we're dependent on the privileged class to vote us out of this. It's why I like Gavin Newsom for president. Get someone who can win first. Push progressivism at the local levels and with about it at the national level after we get out from under fascism.

One simple trick; first you you vote where you live, then you drive to the next republican county over and stand in that line there once you get to the desk/table simply say "this isn't the line for Taylor Swift autograph signing?" and leave. Double and triple each and every republican wait line, lots will turn around discouraged. Wear maga merch & lots will also leave the line after 4+ hrs of waiting 'no way we lose with this many ppl, my vote inst necessary'. Resistance does not have to b big.

Yes, buy if you want to. But make sure you take the time to learn HOW to use it. That means range time. That means learning to clean. It means taking a Stop The Bleed class. It means being responsible. Life isnt an action movie.
If you can't make time for any of the above, something less lethal might be a better defensive tool of choice.

I don't disagree - but US law enforcement have shown that possessing a firearm is grounds to detain/shoot you. And it's illegal in many places to carry inside a polling place. And if you are carrying - you need to be 100% confident that if ICE try to detain you that you will draw and fire at them. Dicey times. I agree protect yourself is good. But it's easily another excuse to be detained/shot at

So are you trying to orchestrate a failure and jail time? Not only Do 19 states ban weapons at polling places, 9 have partial prohibitions, and almost all states ban weapons at schools which are a common polling places, on top of that even if you are in one of the very few states you can carry a concealed weapon to a school what are you hoping to achieve by pulling on an ice agent, the court is not going to allow it. Bottom of line this is a fast way to get locked up for a long time.

You don't enter the polling place armed; you go to the location armed. If ICE isn't around trying to stomp over folks' right to vote, you leave your firearms locked in your vehicle and quietly do your duty as a citizen, cast your ballot, and move on with your day.
If ICE *is* around stomping on rights, then you have tools to also do your duty as a citizen.
