Unreal Tournament. Absolutely stunning and amazing game. Back then it was for sure groundbreaking on more levels, but even almost 20 years later some games were still using Unreal engine, which is astonishing achievement in something that changes so rapidly.
There are some other titles that also burned a lot of my life, but these 3 are probably top 3. IMO the best games ever made were late '90s and early 2000s. After that many things have changed and gaming as it was no longer exists (shit considered "normal" nowdays is just disgusting (DLCs, expansion packs, constant updates, ingame purchases, various skin variations, constant recycling, cancerous communities ...) that's not gaming (anymore).
Heroes of might and magic 3, probably the best turn based strategy ever. Oh man, I'm afraid to even think about how much time have I spent playing this, since late '90s til corona days. First time hearing about a lot of mythical creatures for me was in this amazing game.
Fallout and Fallout 2, probably the best RPG(s) ever made, extraordinary humor and without a doubt the best skills and abilities system in any game I've ever tried.
Every other title after Fallout 2 with "Fallout" in its name IMO has nothing to do with the original, story wise maybe, but everything else is way off.
P.S. scumbag company known as razer stole their (Brian Fargo and people around him) idea, philosophy if you wish, and use it as their own (shitty products are just the icing on the cake). https://i.imgur.com/QNE9vbd.png

I'd play UT all night long. We'd be super competitive during the match, then share tips on how to git gud and congratulate each other after.

If you think old school CRPGs like Fallout 1 & 2 were awesome, check out Arcanum & Nox!
