Forgive me if this is a repost, but the whole PayPal mafia is infecting our government agencies.

There was a whole Technocracy movement in Italy back about 80 or so years ago. I'll let you guess who/what/how .... It did not end well.

Peter Thiel also has ties to several European governments and gives away very well paying jobs to corrupt politicians after they've been caught... He should be investigated

Oh that's not the quiet part anymore.

Marjorie Taylor Greene bought stock in Palantir on April 8th.

On April 17th, a massive ICE contract with Palantir was announced.

Greene sits on the House Committee on Homeland Security.

The stock has now risen 79% since her purchase.

I wonder if a system as complex as Palantir has more possible failure points / weak points and if, hypothetically, it were to go down, would pull a greater part of the US administrative infrastructure down with it. Or if this is a one way street.

10 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

It will have major failure points because people who refuse diversity forget what the benefit of diversity is... more ways of thinking and seeing from different perspectives... Can't see your flaws if you can't look at it from another perspective.

He's a Nazi. Boycott PayPal and AirB&B and everything else he has his fingers in.

Thiel is more dangerous than Musk; first he's not a ketamine head (and if he is he hides it way better), and he stays mostly out of the spotlight. It's not the loud obnoxious ones you have to worry about, it's the quiet ones in the back.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thiel wrote in 2009 already that he sees democracy as incompatible with his view of freedom. Its not like this is a new revelation

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Peter Thiel needs a French haircut ASAP.

These sociopath ghouls need to be simply assassinated.

There, I said it.

Of all the things to demonize Trump with, this isn't one of them. This contract would have been signed regardless who was president.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Radical, but well-organized progressivism is the only way to fight these monsters. "Progressive" here meaning those who fight for more rights for disenfranchised people. Progressives have two opponents. Conservatives - those who fight to maintain the status quo. Reactionaries - those who fight to erode the progress already made. Conservatives and reactionaries will always team up against progressives. Even when they pretend they don't. Their alliance uses the ratchet effect to resist progress.

This is the arsehole who said the UK has Stockholm syndrome with the NHS and it needs to be privatised. With his insidious company running it of course.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is exactly why Trump and Musk are distracting you. Thiel is smarter than them and is driving a lot of what Musk was doing with DOGE.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

2010 huh? So he's not thinking he can do this in 2032/2036, he's had 15 years to figure it out and did it last Nvoember. Cool.

The creepy thing is - this all started in 2008, with the cellphones- his seeing-stones. They ran data science against what the species vomited into facebook, into instagram, into all these social networks. And they can drive society like a car now. Want an opinion going up- your dad gets to see videos of this and that. The feed is not only addictive, its control, with what is by now effectively a privatized science- a better version of sociology & psychology

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I want to know what they found in this treasure trove of data. It must have been utterly horrifyng. They abandoned all ideals in an instant- democracy, capitalism, open society, it all went out to the window the moment they saw humanity naked.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, this is exactly why I started my advocacy group https://preventdystopia.com

Late last year many people join our ranks who worked in big tech and former intelligence contractors.

And then in November, we were threatened, and most of us lost our jobs. I was suddenly let go, told that "my position no longer exists"

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You are aware of the irony, trying to organize resistance to something that lurks like a invisible film over all social networks- on a social network?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The thing is that Palantir is not anywhere as good at what it is feared for by many, as a central monitoring system with predictive analysis.

Billions of man-hours and dollars goes into feeding it, and yet there are really no tangible examples of how it has successfully anticipated a terrorist attack.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do you say this as someone that works or has worked in Homeland Security or the NSA?

Over at https://preventdystopia.com we interviewed an insider at one of our events who demonstrated how Palantir an entire year ago was already aggregating US Citizen's medical data with credit scores and purchasing patterns.

That's not something they advertise on their website.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are going to have to ask yourself if what they actually do is what they claim to do, and just how intentional that is.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, all good points and food for thought about government abuses.

But what this video really has me questioning is: when the hell did Imgur increase the max video length!?

1) I would have been okay with the cyber dystopia if I could have a.bionic arm and a cool trench coat

2) Peter Thiel needs to die

10 months ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 4

Literally if they gave us UBI most of the issues would vanish.

10 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

As long as UBI pays for my bionic arm.

Left arm, tho. For reasons.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If the ultra rich could be satisfied with merely NEARLY all the stuff UBI probably wouldn't even be necessary.

As a class they would rather end up hiding in bunkers holding their security people's families hostage than share.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Social Security for all. Lift the pay in cap, change the payment structure to a progressive structure, so the more you make the more you pay in, and lower the entry age to 0.

10 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

But instead they want it to be No take, only put?

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they want it to be a communal billionaire money bowl. Take what you like.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gee, I wonder why a common narrative post-election has been that the democratic party went too far left and needs to do more to appeal to centrists.

10 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Thats been every election since at least LBJ. Modern democrats are Reagan republicans and getting worse every cycle. There is no left wing in American politics.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in germany, your democratic party would be more right wing than the cdu and we still do not have communism. but social security and free medicare.

10 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Because they do? They themselves said they were lacking when it came to key demographics and were trying to push to it.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

What left wing policies was Kamala pushing that voters are so against that they'd pick Trump instead?

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From what I've seen, most were just annoyed that Dems were pushing a message of "we are already great" and "things are good how they are." It was passivity, unwillingness to change even when things were undoubtedly not great.

It's why the "Make America Great Again" message is pushed so much. People were looking for improvements and were fed bullshit under the guise it would improve their lives, such as the grocery price stuff.

Most voters don't know policies or details.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On the subject of "it's not just about policies" Kamala herself was recorded talking about how they were lacking when it came to votes in the young male demographic. A demographic that has become over run by right wing mindset as it was right wing grifters that focused on the issues facing these young men, luring them over to their side while many online left were terminally calling them racist, sexist rapists for being men.

An exaggeration, yes, but it was what many felt. So when the only ones

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Talking in these spaces are right wingers, who again offer solutions with bullshit, people tend to drift to the right. Then once their claws are in they go for usual indoctrination tactics and the aggressive, hostile and condescending nature of the online left tends to feed into that even more and push more young men further into the arms of the right wing grifters.

For example, when men are talking about the "male loneliness epidemic" which involves, among many things, suicide rates,

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(I read everything, I'm just replying to the 1st comment).

Yeah, but that's the mainstream / centrist / corporate dems and their consultants that were shaping that message and promoting it. It has nothing to do with progressives and is basically the opposite of their message. Before the DNC convention, when Walz and Harris were saying what they knew to be true, people were energized, and polls were shifting. Afterward, the whole campaign shifted to "status quo for all!" And they lost. Again.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Essentially. Which is why I don't think it's at all accurate to say that it's Harris' fault or would be something she alone could solve. It's an issue the dems as a whole need to solve, among them is appealing to centrists more.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly I think it's true. It's not just the last election either. Every time democrats move left, then they lose the next election.

I think the main reason is that American leftists have a super negative mindset. They never celebrate improvement. The biggest compliment they ever give is: "not good enough"
Which means that no matter how many progressive policies democrats pass it will never generate an actual positive response, so it will never really win them any votes.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

It's demonstrably not - what left wing policies that the democrats enacted that you think pushed people to Trump?

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

In Obama 1st term they made the ACA, and lost seats in every election after that untill 2018.
In Bidens 2 first years they made the IRA and lost the midterms. In the 2nd 2 years they capped mecal prices, made student debt relief, and targeted rich tax evaders and in 2024 they got 10 mio votes less than in 2020.

I don't think they "pushed people to Trump". but 10 mio voters from 2020 just didn't show up in 2024.

Bill Clinton: He was the only US President in modern history who actually balanced the budget. But apparently that was less important than a blowjob.
Al Gore: He was practically obsessed with fighting climate change, but Americans preferred an oil billionaire heir instead.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Those policies were all neutered from their original form / intent (progressive) to be appealing to moderate Republicans and corporate democrats.

If a progressive ACA had passed, all Americans would have healthcare. For the IRA, Americans would have affordable childcare and modern infrastructure projects. The medical price cap was for like 7 drugs. Guess how many were there in the progressive version?

They pass centrist bills, lose, then wonder why they lost before moving even further right.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You are doing the exact thing I said in my first comment. You get progress, and the highest praise you are capable of giving is: "not good enough". And that negativity kills any chance of getting more progress.

This is how politics work in every democrratic country. Politicians make a change and see how people react. If they had won seats after the ACA, IRA and medical price caps, then they would have made more like it. Instead they lost seats and Republicans gutted the funding for it.
