Because it was part of our education we got challanges and one was to build a raft to get our backpacks safely to the other side of the lake.

It was a 3 day hike so we needed to carry a lot of things like sleeping bag, food for three days, saw and other things.

Another challange was to climb down this wall. It was scary as hell but I was super proud I did it :D

We ate almost all of our meals here.

This is where my group (we where five) slept.

Spent a lot of time on this rock.

The three days was super fun but I was sooo tired when I came home. I can really recommend doing at least a one day hike and turn off everything else from you ordinary life.

hike

Awesome!!! Glad you got hands on learning of outdoor skills, they will be valuable in life. Rappelling is scary the first time, then fun!

No shot of the finished raft?!

The whole class shared there pics but no one had a pic of a finished one. I think everyone was so focused on the build we all forgot it.

Looks like a lovely few days out. What part of Sweden was the hike in?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gålö, 45min from Stockholm.

hmm looking at the nature I would say you're in Scandinavia somewhere. My guess would be Sweden.

You are absolutely right! Gålö is the name of the place.

Not scared of heights, but more scared of forgetting what I was taught to keep myself safe. Nice work on the cliff.

It's a fireman's rappel. The two people holding the rope are a backup so even if you let go they hold the rope and the belay device locks. >

> Rappelling solo requires more training, but even one person on a fireman's rappel is very safe. Two is a good redundancy for beginners.

I am scared of heights but I know it's all in my head and told myself I can do this. It's an unnatural thing to lean out from a cliff

My mind and body told me it's impossible because I'm going to fall down.

It's pretty common to get a recipe on things like taking a walk every day for 30min. That's why we did this to know what we are talking

Recipe = prescription :)

Thank you! I know it was the wrong word but couldn't for the life of me remember the right word. I did a Swedish to English translation :)

Swedish is my first language as well, so it took a second or two after first reading it before realizing something was wrong :)

When we are telling our clients to take a walk, jogging or go out to the forrest. There's a lot of health benifits for doing that.

Vilken nivå är detta på? Folkhögskola? Man blir ju intresserad liksom...

Folkhögskola, min utbildning är i Jakobsbergs folkhögskola. Leta efter "hälsoutvecklare" då kommer du hitta min utbildning.

Doc framed my daily 5mi run as a "prescription" for this reason. Need it to stay sane, but sometimes I felt guilty for taking time for me.

Five miles a day isn't a risk of greatly accelerated join fatigue? I guess it depends on your weight?

You hav to look it like this, you can't be a good husband if you mentally or physically feel bad, you cant be a good father or a good worker
