Some scary excerpts:

'But in his concurrent opinion, Justice Thomas said the legal rationale for Friday's decision could be applied to overturn other major cases, including those that legalized gay marriage.'

'Abortion bans in restrictive states will likely bleed over to states that protect abortion rights as well, Rikelman said. She notes that some state lawmakers are trying to prohibit people in other states from providing abortions to their residents.

"What we are seeing already are states and state legislators impacting even people's ability to access abortion in places where it would remain legal," she said.'

Words cannot even express the level of degradation of our society that will happen from the first excerpt by Thomas. If they can start claiming that upheld cases were not valid due to 'language' and just dismiss at will gay marriage, OSHA standards, and other things. It will be a green light for basic rights being removed for many. And even the term 'right' being put under a light to explain it doesn't mean 'right'.

What also interests me is Alito said there is no inherent right to privacy. Where that confuses me on the very text of the 4th Amendment being for that:

4th Amendment US Bill of Rights:

'The RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO BE SECURE IN THEIR PERSONS, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.'

This is truly scary being a US citizen today. It's like the dawn of a Dark Age. So when people think the DNC is doing a lot with the commission they are not jailing ANYONE THAT PLANNED ANYTHING. And this is a giant middle finger from the right saying: "Fuck you we are going to win and bring in fascism because you are too chicken shit to do anything that really matters to stop us." The only hope at this point is to make LAWS that make abortion and rights legal.

FRONT PAGE EDIT: Just flood offices if you are in a battleground state with calls to replace Republicans. And Vote. This will never get fixed without a larger majority in Congress of more liberal democrats. All this talk that democrats are too liberal is nonsense. Most of the NEWLY ELECTED reps on democrats were very liberal. The concept is that they don't do anything. That's do to being blocked by 'moderates'.

The Nazi Party continues to destroy America.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Conservatives are trying to turn America into Iran/Afghanistan. If you're a woman, you get the rights they give you. Get out and vote!

People better stop believing this only happens "over there" and to "others"... it's happening right here and it will affect ALL of us!

Something you can pass on to women and girls: searching "R-486 without prescription" finds 10 week abortion pills $40-65, without prescript.

It's like knowing the constitution isn't a requirement for interpreting what it says.

Perhaps (In)Justice Thomas will have a chance to repeal Interracial Marriage as well.

'protect at conception' but shows a picture of a fetus that comes along way after conception for the logo. Cunts.

Dumb as shit Republicans are happy about it. 1/4 of the country rules against what 3/4 wants. Our country is NOT a democracy.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just look at all their decisions lately and it becomes quite clear these fascists on the SCOTUS are trying to set up a police state.

John Roberts at least didn't vote against Roe, but still.

Would say pro lifers are doin it right if they actually adopted the kids no one wants or supported families physically/financially;they dont

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Instead it’s obvious pro life want to punish people. Punish woman for having sex and kids for being born to dire circumstances and no help.

Everyone one of those girls is pro-life until it is them.

This is genuinely a distressing time

Any opinion from Justice Thomas should be vacated immediately because of his connection to the events of January 6th.

In the US we shoot babies once they are born (mostly we wait till they are in school). That is the American way. Women have no rights.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dark days are already fucking here. They've BEEN here. That's why these moves can now be made so blatantly.

Every Republican is supporting terrorism at the very LEAST. I look at them all as terrorists

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I support women or girls having voluntary abortions.

I don’t understand young people who are on the side of old white men. It’s not gonna benefit them at all to follow them to the grave.

Some are evil and want to hurt as many people as possible. Others want to get in on the ground floor of the next generation of kowtowing

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

politicians. Others have been brainwashed, often women who go for their MRS and tie their identity to their husbands/fathers.

Republicans are an imminent threat.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Republicans are a more imminent threat to America than fucking isis, iran, North Korea, and AL qaeda combined. That's not even hyperbolez

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As a non-american, how exactly does the SCOTUS work? Do they just review laws at their leisure and change whatever they like?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. It’s a long convoluted process. Lawsuits are started by groups claiming constitutional violations by newly created laws. Idiocy follows.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah... that sounds stupid.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Up next is Republicans passing bill that ANY hospital in ANY state that gets ANY federal $ can’t perform abortions. Federal law trumps state

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Actually, up next is Republicans successfully striking HIPAA since HIPAA is no longer legal. Now they can sell all your medical data.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Which will effectively be a ban since *every* hospital takes medicare and often rely on it.

It's pro birth, not pro life. See George Carlin's bit from the 90's.https://youtu.be/vkMbMidsYIM?t=45

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know Carlin well, but I disagree. It’s about cruelty and control, they don’t care if the thing is born.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They don't care if women die.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I really dont get women who are behind banning abortion, it just makes 0 sense to me.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

They were "forced" to have a child because of their religious beliefs and want other women to suffer like they did.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The argument against abortion has always come down to “when does life begin”. Does that help explain their perspective?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Nope

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At first breath, according to the Bible. Then again, how many American "Christians" have ever read it?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It doesn't, because the bible literally states it's on first breath. These people are indoctrinated.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Then you’re assuming that the only reasons against abortion are based in religion. That’s like saying the only reason theft is illegal (1/2

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that Christian’s say it’s bad because bible. The “when life begins” question is a often a scientific one, not a theological one

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry I assumed that because you mentioned "when life begins" you were talking about Christians specifically, since that's their argument.

Remove the electoral college right now and these bullshit laws will mostly stop, cause they are doing it to make Dem voters leave red /1

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

states so that they can ensure they vote GOP, cause thanks to the electoral college, even if only 1mil vote for GOP and 150mil vote DEM /2

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

as long as the 1mil are spread across more states then the GOP would win by having more electoral college votes... /3

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah the system blows as it stands. They also don't want new states for Puerto Rico, Samoa, Virgin Islands or DC for this reason. More>

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

people voting destroys the GOP. They want hard to vote except for stupid white hicks in the SE because they reliably vote GOP.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There needs to be a complete overhaul of the election system, make election maps have to be set by both parties, require polling stations /1
