My flying squirrel does it intentionally. She runs to get the wheel going and then just grabs on for the spin cycle. Once it slows down she does it all over again.
I thought so too at first, and Ive got a colony of sugar gliders in my house. There are some kinds of gliders with faces and bodies very similar to this, that super wide super flat tail is looking un-gliderly to me. Maybe a kind of flying squirrel thats unlike the ones local to me in new england? Kinda looks like I remember the little japanese ones looking like?
I’m in NY and these look exactly like common flying squirrels we have. I had a colony in my house but had to evict them. They don’t do much damage chewing but over time their urine and feces build up and even minor chewing on electrical wiring is scary.
