That's not old, that's anal gland expulsion. She has a full anal gland, a vet can express it for you.

It has a fishy/metallic smell that's hard to define and they usually lick it up afterwards. It's a dog thing.

Ah, I just assumed from the smell. Do you know what mix she is? She's beautiful and between the name/look, guessing part Akita?

I know she's mostly shepherd, I think she's got some husky in her, coat, she's vocal, sings, loves the cold.
