Bu-but you don't understand! If they are billionaires, that means they *deserve* everything they have! Pay no attention to the fact most of them likely just *inherited* everything they have....
Completely wrong. They need to STOP saving. It's all the hoarding that has caused the stagnation of the economy. When all people have a moderate amount of money the circulation of cash and goods grows and the economy flourishes. When a few dragons sit on mountains of gold... we get today.
Acocado toast sounds fancy and liberal, so red blooded propagandists use it as an example of how rich and elitist the left is. Cons hate everything different, so since it's not bacon and eggs, it must be bad.
People really don't have an intuitive understanding about the scale of wealth we're talking about with billionaires. Sure, an 80% tax rate would be devastating for your average American worker even making 6 figures. But for a multi billionaire, 80% tax still leaves them with 100,000x more money than that 6 figure worker has. An amount that wouldnt have any meaningful impact on their livelihood. Billionaires know this though, so they leverage that misunderstanding to manipulate people.
At least to me...it seems like abusive behavior to tell complete strangers what they think or understand. Maybe, basic human respect here, let people have their own opinions and thoughts...as well as express them.
Otherwise, at best you are infantilizing people or treating them like pets.
Most people are woefully misinformed about how things like the scale at which billionaires and corporations are underpaying taxes, and need to be educated.
The last thing I read touting objectivism from an objectivist (Ayn Rand) was "I am right, everyone else who doesnt agree with me are uneducated morons"
Fun fact: even though the king's family all died(him his wife and his son), most aristocrats left the country, most deaths occurred between peasants, and the post revolution revolution is where most people got guillotined for not being revolutionary enough
I think we should do an American version. Rather than a guillotine, perhaps strapping them to the front of a civil war cannon and firing it? We can add some fireworks and stuff too to make it more 4th of July themed
Potential environmental impact, may I suggest instead of cannons, the trebuchet? Bets can be taken on distance, with the funds going to help rebuild where they have poisoned.

It's a studied and proven phenomenon that people cannot intuitively understand massively large numbers.

Nope, that's the objectivist propaganda talking.

Perhaps if we can find a volcano god who isn't very picky about sacrifices, we can avoid the pollution too?
