The fact that it's Liz Chaney, a person I do not agree with politically, who is begging Democrats to wake up is sad and frightening.

His BlueSky account: https://bsky.app/profile/johnleguizamo.bsky.social

?1 this guy has a real plan. I’ve not heard a liberal lay it out so clearly. It’s honestly hot.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Saw this on Bluesky earlier today. Fucking savage John. #6 Fire fucking dinosaurs like Schumer and Pelosi that have as much fight as a wet POS. Instead the Democrats gave them more power. If Democrats cannot do this, don't give them awards for failing. Form new parties and coalitions that actually give a shit.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was there a #3?

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, I don't know why but that video was missing from his BlueSky account.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The two party system doesn't work, one is right wing and the other far right wing

11 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

He should play Luigi Mangione in a biopic. The best Mario brother.

Ayyy, Johnny Legs! That's my guy! Fuck the DNC though. "The Democrats are leftist" - no the FUCK they are not.

Don't worry, I got that reference.

I get that Bluesky is better than Twitter but DO NOT forget that Jack Dorsey is also a technocratic piece of shit.

He is no longer associated with BlueSky. He just helped it launch. But yes, a piece of shit.

While I applaud his shining a light on this, Cheney did not write it, she posted it. The original author is Author Dr Pru Lee https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/liz-cheney-letter-to-democrats/ And yes, it should be repeated, shared and acted on!

Schumer isn't the right person to lead. He's getting steamrolled by Project 2025.

Once politicians start " disappearing" is when they will finaly take action. But it will be to late. They could stopped him in his first term. But they didn't. Now we are here.

11 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The fact that he was not prosecuted and jailed after January 6th is disgusting. Merrick Garland failed America and he failed Democracy.

man i must not have seen him in a while...he looks aggedddd

I once shared an elevator with Offspring frontman Dexter Holland, but I failed to recognize him at the time due to 20 years of aging. Hadn't seen what he looked like since his late 90s music videos. He aged well, I should've known it was him.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well he is in his 60s, but while I can't be certain his hair looks bleached rather than white or grey.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

what.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think bleached hair and brows, hopefully for a role rather than personal choice, as he looks better naturally. (Just my personal opinion) Always love this guy! More now!

I've been planning on making a post with screenshots of all of the text requests for donations I've received from political orgs and candidates since the inauguration. It's fucking insane. Like srsly, what is my $7.35 going to inspire or enable them to do? I'm betting it wouldn't be any of the shit they should already be doing.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We don't need Liz Cheney pulling the Democrats further to the right than they already are, which is her goal. She voted along with Trump more often than Matt Gaetz, but you're all thirsty for a racist homophobe who says the orange racist homophobe is bad, but don't actually have much in the way of liberatory political ideals beyond that. Her miserable downfall should be every bit as anticipated as Trump's.

11 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 6

"Why did so many Democrats stay home in 2024? Let's see what Republican Liz Cheney has to say about it?" a thing right-wing Liberals who are incapable of learning shit do.

Will America finally adopt left wing populism, or is it too late due to the rapid increase in fascism? Stay safe everyone and always have an escape plan if you are taking action.

project 2029 1st thign should be: "move to pre RR tax rates on rich as they have thrived on suffering of the nation for decades"

I think we need a new Project 2025. Today. Now. Forget 2029. Make a new one and install it. Now.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is great and long overdue. I want to know where it's from - does anybody have any info on this Project 2029 or Liz Cheney writing this? There is a Project 2029 on the web https://www.project2029.me/ but they don't mention her and their demands are more general and less immediate and less geared toward politicians/people with power. Cheney herself has a website that seems like it could fit the brief https://greattask.com/ but it's close to empty.

Thank you! I just found a Snopes articles that says Dr. Pru Lee wrote it for/on the Liz Cheney/Adam Kinziger facebook site, which I had come across but since I don't have a facebook account I can't really look at it. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/liz-cheney-letter-to-democrats/

if he didn't read it off a script, that was impressive as heck. even he did, good stuff.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The way his eyes are moving makes me think it was off a script. But I do not care. I prefer people to organise their thoughts and write it down so I do not have to listen to a bunch of ummm aaa um and long pauses while they think.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, this is good. We have a HUGE number of people all across the country who are champing at the bit to do something, but we just don't have anyone in a position of power yet to organize and rally around.

I'm very pleased that we have a few who are starting to step up to the plate, but we really need something more organized, and more politicians who aren't afraid to ruffle some feathers. Dems, stop being worried about maybe acting 'unprofessional' and getting primaried. OUR COUNTRY IS DYING.

Thanks for this clarification. It's always a shame when something is misattributed right out of the gate, because it will be almost impossible to correct it properly going forward.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1 for correct use of “champing”… and the rest of the comment too

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I have an uncle who was all about horses and racing, he probably spent half of his waking hours correcting people to no avail.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Care to clarify for the uninformed? (like myself)

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Champing means to chew on or grind impatiently and the "bit" is what goes in the horse's mouth. A champing horse is impatiently chewing on the bit because it's ready to run but being held back. People started subbing in "chomping" because it means basically the same thing but lacks the impatience, it's just chewing. Then it just stuck because that's what people do and here we are.

I can't believe I'm listening to John Leguizamo on how to handle a fascist takeover of America. Madness (and he's right)

11 months ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 1

The Pest, and The Clown/Violator is the extremely articulate voice of action for resisting fascism... yup

11 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

IIRC, he's always been pretty vocal about Latinos/Latinas/Latinxs in the arts and supportive of the community. With everything going on with ICE and the deportations, you bet he's pissed the fuck off.

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

He is absolutely right. Leguizamo has more passion than most of our elected democratic representatives

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

well, he is a Luigi Mario, apparently the Luigi's are leading us

Don't make words plural with 's. The Luigis deserve better.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

this is fair, my language arts have withered

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No he isn't right. Unfortunately.
1) That should be done by the people, not the representatives.
2) Can't join the ICC without a majority in congress
4) they do educate people on their rights, I've seen numerous posts on imgur about it.
5) international news already get's all the information, none of this is done in secret.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

3) was missing
In short. Democrats are doing more or less everything they shold be doing. The actual problems are
1) Close to half of the population STILL support Trump.
2) In the part of the population who oppose Trump, far too few are willing to get off their ass and actually do something about it.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

Yeah you're right. But for now let's cheer for this bloke as we need clear speech on what is going on and what support we miss from Dems.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That is kinda the problem I was trying to point out actually. You need to stop asking what support you want from the Dems and start asking what support you can give to the Dems.

This problem can't be fixed by politicians.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, a less than a third voted for him. It's an exaggeration that half the country supports him.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

non-voters don't count and they don't matter.
If they couldn't even be bothered to show up to an election, then they sure as hell aren't showing up to a revolution.

And I strongly suspect that all the bullshit : "Democrats could have easily fixed this if they just tried a little harder." Is mainly coming from non-voters who are trying to justify their continued non-action.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dems aren’t the ones that need to wake up. Repub voters need to wake up. Dem voters have been trying to keep this shit show from imploding for as long as I’ve been alive, even conceding ground to repubs in the interest of maintaining peace. It’s time the Repubs ceded ground for a change. Or they can die like the rest of us.

11 months ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 18

Demorat politicians need to actually DO something, and not just wave signs around. This is not the time for empty platitudes, like Ukraine this requires action - political action in this case, but more than words and promises.

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

It's quite literally both sides at this point. Y'all in this together until you come out of it through resistance. You'll fight or die together, like it or not you're all still living in the same country.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

....we're talking about the leadership, not the voters, though.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This isn’t aimed at either voting side. This is directly at the DNC.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They shouldn't cede ground though. Peace is the word for the privileged (I am one such person). Justice is not always peaceful. Justice is the goal.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not the Dem voters that this is aimed at. It's the elected representatives and the DNC who seem to have rolled over as fascism rises in America.

11 months ago | Likes 108 Dislikes 3

The DNC is going after people who actually vote - so their response is 100% predictable. People who choose not to vote are the same as the Repubs.

11 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

*ceding not conceding.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I have to agree with you. It's not the Democrats who've been conned. We KNEW better. Unfortunately, too many who also weren't conned believed Trump would NEVER win that election, even if they personally didn't vote. They were wrong.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Republican voters ARE awake.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Republican voters (and politicians!) are okay with Trump and his ilk doing blatantly illegal and unconstitutional things because they STILL think that their loyalty will be rewarded, and they will not suffer from his tempter tantrums.

They are INCREDIBLY INCORRECT. We have decades of history that show that he has NO loyalty to anyone, no matter HOW loyal they are to him—the MOMENT he feels the need, he will throw ANYONE under the bus. NO ONE is safe. Not MAGAs, not the GOP, not even his family.

11 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Then I hope they enjoy their vote - cuz they’re in the same boat as the rest of us.

11 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Frankly, democratic voters do need to wake up as well, and demand better of their representatives than ceding ground to republicans in the interest of "unity" or "decorum". That doesn't mean voting for the other guy, but it does mean calling their office every single fucking day and telling them to start representing the people who put them in power. It means making it *very* uncomfortable to be a politician who does not.

11 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

Unfortunately, the Democrats have been playing by the book. Their opposition, however, has thrown that book out, and it doesn't bother them that they stoop to such low levels to gain power. They have the power. The House, Senate, SCOTUS, and even the Administrative are ALL controlled by Republicans and their MAGA con-artists.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My rep is AOC. Like wtf does calling her do? Dems across the board have been voting against this guy for a decade now. It’s the republicans who need to change. And democrats aren’t going to be the voice that does changes them. I promise you.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Come on, dude. You know she's the exception to the rule. We aren't going to put an asterisk next to The Democrats* every single time.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You’re right. I still feel the problem is with the Republican voters, not the democrats who have been voting against this for decades. Calling and asking centrist democrats to do better won’t suddenly make them able to vote no on an executive order from the president. All the screaming and performative filibusters doesn’t change the fact that they are essentially powerless in congress unless the GOP actually presents a bill, and even then.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are minor celebrities. They have the reach and the platform to address and mobilize thousands upon thousands of people. AOC and Bernie are out there doing tours of deep red states. One Senator is personally travelling to El Salvador to meet with an illegitimately deported man. Everyone else is... ??? Fund raising, it seems, mostly? Fretting over their pensions? We're very much in a "actions speak louder than words" era. That's what they need to be doing.

11 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not going to cast stones as someone who's barely contributed anything meaningful to the cause, but I do think we ought to have been having the current style of protests under Biden, and then the Trump protests should be more like riots

11 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I fully agree. I voted for Biden, but there is still good reason to put pressure on him and Dems to do better.

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Same, and yep!

11 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dems, Rs? It makes very little difference when they're both right-wing. Dems aren't as actively fascist as Rs, but they're happy to protect the status quo as long as it doesn't hurt their stock portfolios or agitate their corporate donors. They'll bang on about "decorum" because decorum is a polite way to do nothing at all, or completely undermine any efforts at change. Ultimately, they don't care about peace, they care about re-election.

11 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 7

Stop being a sucker please.

11 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

They're right though. Dems pander to Republicans more than they should. "Stop talking about trans rights, it hurts our cause" Dems in my state have said.

11 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

The coalition of people getting elected as Dems includes politicians who win in conservative or D+0 areas who nevertheless oppose the right wing but aren't great allies. The party as a whole however is solidly center-left in exactly the same way as many EU center-left parties and for every centrist squish there's and AOC or Elizabeth Warren representing the left flank. I would be a lot happier if weak Dems like Newsome didn't win elections but there's no pretending he's actually a right-winger.

11 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I mean, we just had a 4 year administration characterized by full-throated support for unionization, that engaged in massive redistributionist public spending, pursued full employment in the face of virulent elite opposition (and lost the next election because of it), and oversaw massive real dollar wage gains for low income workers and actually saw the first decrease in income inequality for low earners in 50+ years. Certainly not perfect, but "right wing"? Come the fuck on.
