Bought in 2004,... Well I'm guessing, might have been 2003 when I bought it.
Anyway this 30 gig mp3 player is still going strong. Battery doesn't last 14 hours as it used to but 6 hours isn't bad.
I use it in my toddlers room at night to play some classical music when she's scared.
It did stop working at one point due to the actual mini hard drive inside being knocked around. (Before glad drives were used)
Sat in my desk for years before found a fix.
The Arthur Fonzirelli fix. Just smack it hard on the side to knock the hard drive reading arm back into place.
Makes a good back up hard drive when I need it for photos.
I'll pass it on to my little one when the time comes. Do come the apocalypse, more crappy world leaders making dumb decisions or just a nice life, she'll be set with a decent music player, my old collection of Nintendo's, and my comic books.
Also turn it on and it works. No need for any damn updates! (Small vent for tech these days needing updates every time you turn it on)
