It's taken a while to get my K1 Max dialed in, but now that it is, it produces absolutely amazing prints!

I do love CinderWing's models

Absolutely amazing. I have a subscription to their models. Totally worth it.

I've printed one of those :) looks like we did almost the same color I did silver

This one was a red black silk. I've done blue black, and a green/purple/copper silk pla.

Had someone put an order in for one in gold and another in green black.

Got burned out trying to dial in my any cubic kobra max when I got it a year or so ago. Turns out it was just a faulty unit and I spent a entire summer tearing my hair out replacing parts on it via warranty until I got them to just send a new unit. Only did like 10 prints in it and my filament is probably fucked with how long it's been....

Oh damn, I'm sorry to hear that. I replaced the bed on my K1 Max with a 6mm thick machined bed, and put a cartographer bed probe (eddy current) which made such a massive difference. I have a few different build plates too and have them all calibrated and saved, so I can easily switch between them as well, thanks to the Carto.

What speed are you using? I've been looking at getting a new 3d printer that can move quickly and still give good quality prints.

I'm running stock speeds on my K1 Max. Haven't had any reason to change them. Though I do slow down my top layer to 100mm/s which I find gives the best results.

That being said, I have modified my printer:

* Mandela Roseworks machined bed
* Cartographer Bed probe
* Microswiss Flowmaster hotend
* 5015 part fan
* SimpleAF firmware (not running stock has helped greatly)

I had a K1C recently and couldn't get great prints at all. I returned it and my Bambu P1S comes tomorrow.

As long as you're happy with your Bambu, that's all that matters. The thing that I don't like with how some of these printers are going, is they take away all the learning. I started with an Ender 3 Pro at work and then my own Ender 3 v2 and I learned so much. Sure the automation is nice, but knowing how to calibrate, what to do to get a great print, or how to fix things are so important.

I hope you enjoy your printer!

Honestly, if you wanted something that prints really well out of the box, maybe wait for the Creality K2, or have a look at a Bambu. Or there is a new CoreXY printer coming, I forget the name, but TeachingTech has reviewed it. Seems good.

As a fellow K1 max owner, I'd bambu made a 300mm printer, I'd have bought that.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The P1S is 500mm. Unless I'm mistaken.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's 256x256 like the other core XY ones

There's a bunch of different designs like that you can get on Printables or Thingiverse. Made some for my daughters, a few for friends.

I have one I was given as a gift years ago in a colourshift purle and its the most wonderful fidget toy

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yeah they're best in multi-coloured filament.

I bought a white one that glows a beautiful bright blue in the dark. It has great whiskers, as well.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have the same exact one haha

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It absolutely does. I'll make one

What slicer do you use? Creality print 5.1 ?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OrcaSlicer. I've tried CS5 but I find it too restrictive and confusing. Orca has everything CS does, and more.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Any chance you can share your settings? I’m a bit intimated by orca. I have 2 K1 max’s

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure, I'll export my profile and send you a link later on.

Sorry for the delay. Here is a copy of my Orca Slicer profile - https://file.io/WrGLqi7H3p2D
