I heard about this just yesterday. It's highly illegal, Maryland has several statutes that are noted in the article, namely that you CANNOT call law enforcement to avoid payment which is EXACTLY what she did.

One that I read had quotes from one of the workers who was legal said they were pretty much just getting started on it.
So I mean, I guess if you're in support of ICE and you realize that the people you hired sent people who are illegal, it makes sense that you'd call on them.
Not saying I support this of course, but it seems she in fact did not wait to avoid payment. I also read that she said if they sent people back to finish the work and they were also illegal she'd do it again.

Maryland has specific laws that prohibit anyone trying to avoid paying for services or goods by threatening to report immigration, or actually reporting immigration status.
Apparently enough shitheads in Maryland did this, that they got a law on the books to prevent MAGAts and other assholes from doing exactly this.

Okay American lawyer here (this is not legal advice don’t come for me) … but this IS what we should T&P for!
If convicted of the crime, that can be used as evidence in a civil case … not hard to imagine a jury of her peers awarding punitive damages to deter others from doing this.
In other words, she could VERY likely lose her right to vote and that house because of this.
Don’t burn it down and give her the insurance money instead.
