Good luck having all your subordinates be upset about how you "lost your spine when you earned your stripes."

In the US forces, don't you get promoted just for being in for a couple of years? Genuine question, promotion seems fast compared to the UK.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The first few enlisted ranks have time in service reqs only, but you have to be selected to reach the NCO tier or above. Officers same.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now if you could just catch up on the 9 months of counseling's the squad leader before never did, that'd be great.

Just in time for the new C.Q. roster sergeant. But for real, congrats!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Congrats sarge...remember Joe's always come first. Live by the creed.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Great that's the same as like a lance corporal in the Marines.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yet that Lance Corporal will stand at parade rest when being addressed I am sure. See it all the time here in Okinawa.

Battle is the great redeemer, it is the firey crucible in which true heroes are forged. Tip of the spear, edge of the knife, crack of my a

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Either punch the stripes or push the pins lol

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Welcome! It is a great feeling, no longer a Private! But youll still Get shit, difference is the rank og the person shitting on you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

E4 mafia no more.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Time for you to get a pickup truck, a permanent dunkin donuts coffee cup, and a real surly attitude. (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 1

Lol. I never understood drinking coffee at the gym until E6.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

(2/2) But seriously, congrats. Remember, take care of your joes first, then the mission, then you. Don't be part of the toxic leadership.

Can't upvote this enough. Too many NCOs only look out for themselves these days.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. Those stripes mean you're now a bullshit-blocker. Keep your team clean and dry.

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

And have them change their socks often!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

They better be drinking water!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see some cigarette butts on Battalion Ave. that need to be picked up, I'll need a detail for cleanup...

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I see that you too have served at The Great Place.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yup. And being the only Infantry in an armor battalion meant we were first, second & last pick for these details (well, us and the Scouts).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You were a Chuck!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes sir, Four Deuce for the first three years and then moved to the 120mm my last year in...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats! You're no longer a member of the E4 mafia, though, so good luck skating out of details now.

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

As a soon to be 1st Lt (hopefully), I'm intrigued to learn more about this humble organization

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Congrats! But you lost you Sham shield Man! Now you gotta work

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

E4 mafia for life!

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Guys, E5/E6 still skate. We just call it training. "I don't want to do X. E4, go learn how to X. No, you don't know how. Well, relearn it!"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When I was an E4, my team leader made me read a report on how to sham. I never was much good at shamming, so I think it will be ok.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

If you want to improve your sham proficiency score, hit up your nearest Warrant Officer. Those dudes have shamming down to a science.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Cool, what country and what type are armed forces are you in?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're on Imgur right now. If you're active component and CONUS and not on leave... you're shamming right now haha.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

What is shamming?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Skating.. basically getting out of work and chilling
