Hey are you saying OP runed it? ðŸ˜
REOJackwagon
Yup, dang near runed bof of em

Had a couple metal pics before. They don't suit every song, but you can use em like a slide sometimes, or as a trick fret for right hand harmonics. So how'd you make these ones? They purty.
nicilaskin
I am a metalsmith , I cut these out from bronze sheet , the the edges get beveled so they are nice and smooth . Steel sheet with the image and then the hammer method , its old school silversmithing , if you look through my posts some of it shows the process a little bit :)

I've literally used coins before.... its not good for your strings AT ALL but it's just an emergency "I have no pick but I'm really trying to play a song that I need to pick." And it does sound different
rbudrick
The ridged edge of a coin like a new quarter or half dollar, when raked across a string can make some really cool sounds, as the ridges "pluck" the strings in rapid succession. Also a great way to play notes higher than the fretboard allows.
Vebrandsson
I don't know a lot about stringed instruments, trick fret is a term I've never heard before. Can you explain?
GravyEducation
If I am thinking the same thing as them, they're referring to harmonic notes, whereby you can lightly touch a string without actually fretting it (holding the string down against the fret). Lightly touching it will produce a higher pitch *ping* kinda noise. The physics behind it i can't explain but it can only be done at certain intervals. I'm real rusty at guitar but I believe you can do it on the 5th, 9th, 12th, and 15th fret. The string will resonate but not in the same way as regular play
rbudrick
Harmonics yes, but just plain higher notes as well. Tbh, right hand harmonics are easier to do with the edge of the thumb and a free finger than with any pick.
rbudrick
It's not a real term, just one I made uo cuz I dunno what else you'd call it. If you hokd the pick a bit a gainst the strings beyond the fret board and pluck the string it is touching with one of the free fingers, it can act as a fret for notes higher than the real frets
GravyEducation
No if I'm thinking what you're thinking, you called it harmonics, that's what it is.
rbudrick
No, I just mean regular notes higher than the fretboard allows.
