Back in the 70s a guy tried to illegally take a saguaro out of the desert near my hometown. It went worse than this. Those suckers are water-heavy. He died when it struck back.
In South America there is something called the cave of swords. Giant 20 meter selenite crystals. Protected site. This one local guy wanted to go and get one of these giant crystals. We'll the crystal broke and fell on him and trapped him. The problem with this cave is that no one visits. The other problem is that its over 130f and 100% humidity. You drown from breathing the air in a few minutes.
