Pretty dramatic video.
"Congressman Gregory Meeks tore into Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent over alleged investments tied to Donald Trump’s crypto firm. Meeks warned Bessent not to act as the president’s “flunky,” triggering a tense moment during the hearing. The clash spotlights growing scrutiny of political influence, crypto ties, and ethics in government."

Some of these people are smart enough to realize the morons are shitting where they eat. They are pushing them towards choosing between actual reforms and guillotines and they do not like that choice.
rolliefingers
Between actual reforms and total capitulation, really. The big money today is being made in the spaces created by legislative and regulatory incompetence and corruption.

Yes, I too believed in the system of "checks and balances". With my 14 year old currently taking a civics class, it's a real titty twister to be learning all the rules and laws that should keep power in check but is not working.

There's no system that's invulnerable to public officials acting in bad faith. We have many laws and structural defects imo, but conceptually, the basic structure of coequal branches is solid.
RetrogradeLlama
They're all just as corrupt.

Jfc, we can't get rid of all of them at once without literally burning the country to the ground
Work with the least bad to get rid of the most bad. And do it again. And do it again. And do it again.
