Fun fact (for those of us who read the book), I Am Legend wasn't about a zombie apocalypse; they were actually vampires... and they were sentient.

Just know that changing the ending wasn't the original plan. The movie preview was panned so badly they rushed to change it (which defeats the entire purpose of the title)

Yeah a lot of changes were made from the novel, I personally hated the CGI they used and in my mind the story plays out better in a typical residential neighborhood, not a NYC environment.
