BDO was really the epic go to game (multiplayer) for it's first year or two. Even if it didn't really break the mold, it grabed hold of so many things to 'trick' us that it was breaking away. And it was fun. Really fun. Sadly, micro-transaction 'requirements' ruined it. Later ruined even more when they easy-blasted it so that u could hit 60 in a day on a new character and get a TON of 'cash shop' stuff for doing it. It was a lot of fun, but imo no reason to pvp anymore beyond brag rights.

see I only played bdo for it's first year and even then you had to pay for pets to pick up loot for you otherwise the game was a massive chore. It's been on the same slide into cashgrabia the whole time and the game wasn't even that good to begin with if you didn't live near the server, shit sucked playing from australia
