What everyone in Syria is really fighting for

Aug 10, 2018 11:12 AM

You see it all started with the E.U and U.S trying to build a new oil pipeline through Syria. Now Bashir Al Assad ( he's Syria's President) said no way that would sideline my homie Russia (who supplies the E.U with its oil) and gave the U.S the middle finger. Now uncle Sam didn't like that so they started supplying the local Shiite militias with arms and flooded the Middle East with propaganda ( remember the Arab spring). Russia told Al Assad "we got your back bro" and well, shit hit the fan. Militants that had been fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq flooded into Syria and sidelined the moderates and took over the Militias with backing from Saudi Whabalists. The U.S used these extremist militias to fight the Assad regime. While Russia used Assad and his militas to drop chemical weapons on rebel held territories and fight the Saudi backed militas.

Then on top of this you have the Kurds ( minority ethnic group from Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq) being used by the U.S which has been promised political autonomy for helping the U.S fight the Assad regime, which in turn has pissed off the Turkish government which sees the Kurdish separatists as a terrorist organization.

There you have it. a Syrian oil shit sandwich.

So if you thought that this fight was over Isis or democracy, it's just a battle for oil.

Tinfoil hat theory... The US imports more than 40% from Canada now and produces most oil itself. Net imports have halved since 2005.

Has there ever been peace in the middleeast? Yes, once or twice back in 17th and 18th century. Nothing to do with oil. Just a shitty place.

What is the US's role, in your opinion?

The sooner we quit our oil & gas addiction the better.

We can’t make enough batteries. Unfortunately.

We cant.... oil companies buy any patents for new/better means of energy

You know, remember that time Saddam gasped Kurds. Man, I'm sure that has nothing to do with them wanting independence from extremist leaders

Don’t forget the US used chemical weapons too. US led troops dropped white phosphorus munitions in both Syria and Iraq
