I would like to remind y'all that planes in the modern world have escape options.
There is Zero goddam way that the plane ~mysteriously~ fell down without getting shot down (the party line) and *ALSO* everyone on it died.
LuveBunny
Well, after the US slaughtered 150+ Iranian schoolgirls, at this juncture, well, ain't gonna lose any sleep over US military asset loses.
MakeUpSomethingNoOneHasUsedYet
If it is not hostile fire, and not friendly fire, and involves two planes, they probably collided with each other. They don't have ejection seats, and they don't carry parachutes.

This also just happened:

the man that lied to avoid the draft said he would never get caught .

Suckers even.

Honestly the 2 “missing” ones would be better off dead, if they have fallen into the hands of the Shiite militias in Iraq they would endure a fate much worse than death.
laserfork
I'd guess they're missing because the massive fireball that was their stratotanker incinerated their remains too badly to be immediately identified.
MipMop
There's little to no chance of surviving. They weren't issued parachutes to improve weight-savings and/or the craft's low rate of failure.
MipMop
A source that backs that up: https://www.defenseone.com/policy/2026/03/no-parachutes-kc-135-crew-who-crashed-iraq/412129/

One refueling tanker lost and other one 'damaged' so not in service soon. Refueling operations are a major tactical range extending piece of projecting military power over a region. Between knocking some of the refueling advantage out, and the oil prices spiking, what the eff is this administration even doing?
foreverinchains
They're doing what Israel is telling them to do, and none of them are smart enough to understand the actual consequences.
Timesarrows
so these were hit by some kind of fire and the trump admin is lying? no arab countries have free elections. they're all rules by murderous self appointed dictators. US/Israel called for Iran arabs to revolt to have Democracy. so US/Israel is also calling for Saudi, Iraq, Jordan, UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt citizens to revolt! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Spring
excableguy
Want some scary consequences? In prior Middle East conflicts, Russia and China watched from the sidelines but in this one they are actively helping Iran with intelligence and technology. China is waiting for the US to overcommit in Iran to take at crack at Taiwan. -Insert funny WWIII meme-
randomwalrus
And none are human enough to even care what the consequences are, as they will never suffer any.

It is now confirmed, all six crew members died:
US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Friday that six US military personnel were killed after a refueling aircraft crashed over Iraq the day prior, insisting that "the loss of the aircraft was not due to hostile fire."
"All six crew members aboard a US KC-135 refueling aircraft that went down in western Iraq are now confirmed deceased," the command said in a statement.

"It is now confirmed, all six crew members died" Did anyone really expect a massive plane carrying fuel to get shot down and crash violently and have people survive it? Like seriously?
TK421isAFK
"Two of them jumped up the second before the plane crashed, avoiding the full force of the impact." - something Trump would probably say.
EggFooYung
"not due to hostile fire" when Iranian proxy group is already claiming it.
randomwalrus
So, friendly fire it was, then.
Abizuil
TBF to CentCom, proxy/terrorist groups have a strong incentive to tie their name to *any* loss of an enemy as it gets their name in the news and builds them reputation to help grow their group. Would a willing jihadist (in this example) join a group with multiple 'maybe' kills of US aircraft or one without any kills?
EggFooYung
True, but given the people in charge of this war (Trumbo, Kegsbreath, Raisin Cain, etc) there's good reason to doubt anything they say. See also: the bombing of Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School.
alex5775
You know, it was a Boeing so maybe it just did that
EggFooYung
You may have a point there too.
ButtscratchMcPherson
Looks like we also just lost/had heavily damaged another 6-8 refuelers on the ground, plus the one that hit this one. A small price to pay to keep Bibi and Trump out of jail.
ButtscratchMcPherson
Update: US military is claiming 5 damaged not destroyed, zero fatalities.
