Goatober: Goat Fact of the Day (7)

You are now subscribed to Goat Facts. Here's your Goat Fact of the Day!

Goats are literally the most capricious members of the animal kingdom. Etymologically, at least. The word capricious—subject to, led by, or indicative of a sudden, odd notion or unpredictable change; erratic—traces back to the Latin word for goat, caper. The English word caper also finds its roots in goats, as the word originally referred to leaping like a kid! Perhaps a kid capering on a trampoline? (The answer is no, because trampolines were not invented yet.)
