About a week ago the original post was put on imgur, and it quickly gained popularity as people hunted Where's Waldo (or Wally) style for what they thought they saw in these pictures. I was surprised to find that everyone's answers were wrong! It was interesting to me since it was so easy for me to find the hidden animals, so I decided to make my very own official* answer key with all of the correct* answers*!
All of this was painstakingly re-created over the course of several tireless days ... a few minutes each day ... in a very complicated image rendering software ... Microsoft Paint ... with a photorealistic* rendering of what is truly* there.
* Not in any way verifiable or even true, really
If you enjoy any part of this at all, at the very least go give an upvote to @theclevergirl 's post here: http://imgur.com/gallery/TMJKk !

We start off pretty obvious. You can see those ears right behind the tree. Okay, easy mode it is to start off! It's good to have a learning curve to make the later stuff seem all the more worth it when you figure it out.
#3
It's an antelope, of course! I'd recognize those ears anywhere! It does seem to have a longer neck than I remember, but I suppose we usually see the gif this guy is from with most of the lower part cut off: http://i.imgur.com/6fc2lZM.gif
#4
Definitely getting a bit more difficult now! Just a bunch of leaves, right? Well, if you look around, a little bit of it looks different over on the left there.
#5
I knew those leaf lumps looked familiar. Technically Maxwell from Scribblenauts is a human, but humans are animals after all! His legs look weird, but that's because he's hiding, and definitely not any sort of critique on the complex art techniques it took to render his likeness.
#6
Well, look at that lovely specimen poking out of the flowers! Can't see her? Well, that's what you have me for.
#7
Those flowers should have looked familiar - they're known for being in a certain person's hair! I think those are supposed to be flowers, at least. Either way, it's totally Chun Li that was in there, see?
#8
Just leaves! A lot of pictures are going to have that description, I bet. If you look in the middle you can scope out some shadows and make out what animal is here.
#9
It's a pudgy little elephant! What's that in his trunk? A crown - this is no ordinary elephant! If I search around and brush up on my pachyderm royalty (Republican post-apocalyptic agendas aside) we can see that this most closely resembles the monarch Babar. A benevolent ruler I'm sure, and ... woah, he married his second cousin?! Weren't there children's books published about this guy?
#10
This one's easy, right? You can see most of it sticking out! Well, looks can deceive, as the theme song to the show Clueless famously said! (Was that famous? I grew up glued to the TV, usually figuratively.)
#11
Yep, that tail and foot gave it away easily. It's that Aussie animal who appealed to all kids of the generation (by which I mean they reluctantly sat through the movie to see the talking kangaroo and it turns out it was a brief dream sequence), Kangaroo Jack! Looks like there's something coming out of his pocket, but that's probably not important. Also, did you know he had an animated movie a year later? Because I don't think the creators did. At least not once they were sober.
#12
See that curtain? It's no accident that it's in the center of the image. It's actually what they call in photography the "center of focus", and is meant to draw your eye to the "subject" of the "photo". Look closely at the shape pushing through that curtain.
#13
Of course, it's Bastet! The Egyptian goddess of sweetness and flowers and junk, but also warfare because mythology is weird. The dealy she's holding in her right handpaw is a sistrum, which is an instrument that could be shaken to make music, making it the equivalent of the modern day instrument the "Etch-a-Sketch".
#14
Oh boy, lots of cute face-like things! Are these all toys? Is one real? Will these eventually rise up and destroy all of humanity thus proving the prophecy from who we once considered to be crackpots?
#15
Turns out it's that last one, because the animal hiding here is the Teddy Ruxpin, a cybernetic Illiop (a mythical species that looks like a bear) who infiltrated several homes in the '80s and '90s, only to be brought down by the advent of nobody using cassette tapes anymore.
#16
Another in the "just leaves, right?" series of images. Where could the animal be in this one? Well, it's front and center, right there in front of your face! Doesn't that curve look familiar?
#17
You guessed it, it's a beagle! Some people would have guessed it was Snoopy from that shape, but if we look more closely at the surroundings we can see that this is actually the Red Baron, a completely different character from Snoopy, I'm sure.
#18
You have to be careful what you buy from the store - why do you think people are always picking up eggs and holding them up to the light and sticking them in their ears or something?
#19
That's right, you could have eaten a sentient cactus! This isn't quite the way you'd want to spike your breakfast! Specifically this is a pokey from the Mushroom Kingdom, which is the worst because if you eat it face-first it will either crumble or grow a new face, depending on where it's from. Oh, and also the spikes. Those are pretty bad.
#20
A branch. Literally just a branch! Open your eyes wider and you may be able to catch this creature.
#21
Two members of the Mushroom Kingdom in a row, but hey, I don't control what's found in these pictures! What's that? A question mark block is an item and not an animal? Well the manual to Super Mario Bros specifically states that the Koopa clan's dark magic turned the citizens into blocks and items! And a toad is definitely an anima- uhh ... Well, I mean, they're mushrooms, so they'd be fungus ... but they also have central nervous systems of some sort ... Whatever, this thing counts as like at least one fourth animal!
#22
There's only one thing in this picture - how hard can this one be? Such a distinct shape the parts take as well! This answer shouldn't surprise anyone, really.
#23
It's a flamingo! And for once the color isn't too far off! It was easy once you saw the one slender, slim, skinny, ... stem-like, some might say, leg that is holding it up. Little known fact - flamingos get their color from eating shrimp! You see, shrimp eat algae and plankton, thus reducing the flamingos' green hex value to near zero, making them more magenta. Isn't science cool? Or also whatever I described there?
#24
This one is admittedly tough, and a lot of people fall into danger from not seeing one of these! Here's another big hint - look for some solid, dark lines.
#25
I hope you found this animal right away, for your own possible safety while walking the woods! Well, animal representation left by a witch. And again, animal meaning human. Or any upright primate, I suppose! Those could have been little stick chimps in those Blair woods!
#26
Lots of trees for animals to hide in! Luckily, humans are adept at pattern recognition, so you should be able to see which of these branches sticks out as different.
#27
Of course, it's that dark branch! It's actually a harpoon stuck in some sort of white whale, which means that tree must be humongous! Or maybe it's just somehow closer to the viewer than the whale that's in front of it. You know, like a panoramic shot or fisheye lens or something. This specific animal, of course, is Moby Richard, because I have no reason to start being non-kid-friendly now.
#28
Just plants? No, there's something that's poking above the horizon there. Something that definitely has adapted to its environment and can surprise you just how well it can jump out, especially if it senses a little treat above the surface!
#29
It's the Graboids from Tremors! The little treats above the surface being humans, mostly. I know the area looks pretty swampy, but Graboids in this stage only live in the sand, so that must be a mirage.
#30
More dark stripes, which you can see much better in this closeup. Hopefully by now you're adept at sensing the danger lurking in the grass!
#31
Well, the former danger, anyway. You see, a house already fell on this specimen! The best part of this particular dangerous animal is that it's very easy cleanup once you remove those slippers that look way too fancy to be called slippers.
#32
Jungles and forests are just full of things that look just like sticks, aren't they? One trick is to look for unusual shapes among those sticks and logs, and the answer should - quite literally - pop out!
#33
The shape I was referring to is a triangle of course, who ever sees that in nature? Once you find that, the rest just falls into place and we see another humanoid creature, Phineas. One might be tempted to believe that Ferb is somewhere among the rectangles, but that's just wishful thinking and also I don't want to draw any more things.
#34
The sticks and the color brown do well to camouflage this creature, but not well enough! Not well enough, indeed, from human eyes.
#35
That's right, the creature is Bambi's mom, completely unprotected from human eyes! Oh, shoot, there goes our kid-friendly status. Oh, no, wait, Bambi was rated G! This is perfectly acceptable to show to children, and you don't even have to be in the room for when they have questions!
#36
This one is a bit obvious, and there's no way you can miss that animal in the center! It might be a bit hard to tell what kind of animal and what it's doing, but that's why they pay me the big money.
#37
It's a bird - you can tell from those feathers and the shape and crud like that. This dove looks to be dodging some arrows, which likely makes it a part of some very complicated magic act. Too bad it's not some sort of sea bird, if such a thing even existed, but I'm pretty sure birds can swim. That's actually what they named the dog paddle after - bird dogs. I know, usually avians can't be mammals, but haven't you ever heard of multiclassing?
#38
No way any animals can blend in here - this is clearly a manmade object! Well, animals come in all shapes and sizes and change to adapt to their environment, even if those environments are harsh or brutal or poisoned.
#39
This picture might accidentally be upside down, or there's some metallic or magnetic surface there, because in the lower right is a Dalek! Oh? Are some of you out there saying robots aren't animals? Well, soak up some more knowledge because the adapting to environments I mentioned is very relevant! You see, the Daleks are mutated creatures with a robotic exterior who had to change to fit their radioactive environment. You have to keep open-minded if you're going to find any of these animals!
#40
Yet another creature that can blend in with the trees. You might see this little fellow in parks and woods all around America, although getting a picture this close and crisp is rather elusive!
#41
As much as I wanted this to be Harry (most known for living with the Hendersons), it's just Bigfoot. Also known as Sasquatch (not the trumpet player), it's very easy to miss this majestic creature.
#42
Who can see anything in this picture? Is this even a place, or is this all just marks on a paper? No, bleak as it may be, it is a real place, and there is supposedly at least one animal there.
#43
This bleak, hazy, quantum state of existence is Scotland, of course! We have yet another cryptozoological creature here, the Loch Ness Monster. Just because it was proven to be a hoax doesn't mean that it can't be alive and real and also very clearly in an authentic picture here!
#44
If you walk outside often you might come into contact with this small, yet very dangerous, animal. Usually dangerous to smaller creatures, but they have their surprises!
#45
Lyme disease. The surprises were mostly Lyme disease. This particular tick does look a bit ... uh, big ... but that probably means it just ate or it's an optical illusion or something that you can tell yourself so you can sleep tonight.
#46
For real though, it's just a hunk of wood. No matter how much you stare at this, I can't tell you that it's more than just a tree. I mean it has a nest in it! It has to be just a tree!
#47
Did that throw you off, because it really is a tree! Well, not really. It's a tree like being called a Floral Colossus, this one most likely being the one we know well as Groot. Of course we're stretching the definition of animal again, since he is a sentient, mobile, conscious alien creature, but he has several plant-like abilities and features. That nest looks like it has some eggs in it, though, so if you're looking for animals, there's some potential birds!
#48
Several hints for this one! These animals are known to be in packs, although you usually only find signs of one. You might not even see one, but you can certainly hear their call from a distance
#49
If you didn't guess Jawas, then your droids might already be taken apart and salvaged! I don't know if they do iPhones, though. I'm not sure if it's technically a 'pack' of Jawas, but they do walk single file to hide their numbers, and their shout of "Utini!" can be heard far and wide. I think that one in the back is holding a gun. At least I hope so, since I'm not taking the time to blur that out.
#50
Another regular tree! No, the original poster didn't think they could get away with just posting a bunch of hunks of wood, there is actually a fairly dangerous predator concealed here.
#51
The animal here is the elusive AK-47, which admittedly is the animal I'm the most unfamiliar with. Check out that ... uh ... eyepiece ... and ... uh ... I can see the butt! Is this an animal? I'm not sure how to classify this one. Well, at any rate, I've also highlighted the little animal there - the live ammunition!
#52
This one is fairly easy to see, but maybe hard to identify seeing that little thing snuggled in fuzz to escape the cold. What animal could it be?
#53
Lots of humans (or at least humanoids) in this album! This is an ice climber, with another ice climber's hand just offscreen on the left. They only come in pairs, you know!
#54
It's not hard to spot this fuzzy, friendly creature piercing through to you. Can you tell what kind of animal that is? Huge hint for you - it's man's best friend!
#55
The specific man whose best friend this is would be Santa - hopefully that didn't sound like I was referring to some non-specific term for humanity or something silly like that! In fact, you can see Santa's hat, or a reasonable facsimile, hanging from his head. The red nose is a dead giveaway, and those antlers look like he's growing up quite a bit already.
#56
This one has curious markings that you would think make it stand out from the sand, but this predator can certainly hide and pounce swiftly onto its prey.
#57
Similar to the Graboids, it's another kind of sandworm, one of the sandworms from Beetlejuice. Don't worry, that's the last sandworm you'll see in this album. No Lovecraftian or Dune or D&D or anything from here on out!
#58
This one is definitely tricky at first, until you look a bit to the left and see where this animal failed to blend in! Looks like the animal is hiding because of something horrible done with that laundry there.
#59
How some people could miss such a large boa is a bit bewildering, particularly one that's eating the wash! Well, I guess it's not the wash yet. Now it's just ... the dirt. That Jimmy kid should really keep his pet secured before it eats something wearing the clothing!
#60
Just rocks, nothing more. No, there's a fairly common animal here, which blends in much more than it does in the city!
#61
It's a ... bird of some sort. Hard to tell what kind exactly, since it's just kind of ... fingers and stuff. Whatever type this is, I think it's worth twice as many birds in a bush, mathematically.
#62
This one is one of the smallest pictures of the bunch, but there's a lot going on here. Can you tell which of the things sticking up is the one animal in the picture?
#63
Of course it's those two little specific brown things in the middlish, anyone can see that! Good thing I spent so much time drawing this one only to find that it shrunk back down, but you can see Peter Rabbit pulling a carrot from the ground by activating a special zoom now! Just bring your face part of your head closer-wise to your imgur-viewing device so that it nearly smacks frontwise into it.
#64
You can't hide this one very well, the eye is drawn straight to it! These trees do absolutely nothing to mask the vision before us here.
#65
Now this one a lot of people came close to guessing, but for some reason people only focused on her legs. At least I think I remember seeing something about a couple of nice calves!
#66
Such vibrant greens here! Can you guess what piece of greenery is a rather loud animal sitting comfortably among it?
#67
NO! I mean, maybe. I mean http://i.imgur.com/Jua9RX6.gif
#68
A second one that is just blustery white and sticks. Hopefully this one will be a little less cryptic when we finally find the animal.
#69
Okay, the Egyptian Eye of Horus is a little strange, what with it being this big ol' disembodied make upped eye that's supposed to grant some sort of protection to people.
#70
Lots of roughage strewn about here, so it's hard to see what could be lurking about protecting its treasures.
#71
No wonder it was hard to tell what animal this was, we were really close up! That's a dangerous prospect, since I hear he gets really bad dragon breath.
#72
Something large is hiding in this one, at least as much as something that big can hide! This one is definitely something any imgurian would recognize!
#73
Oh no, what happened? I'm not really sure why I thought imgurians would recognize her so well, but here is Hel- uh ... Goodbye Kitty.
#74
Okay, now this is a really hard one! I admit that it took me a while to get this one since I was looking a bit too locally.
#75
Just as I thought, you really have to zoom out to get the full picture here! The animal here is Coco the monkey, and his apparently neverending box of Cocoa Krispies. It must use the same storage technology as they use for Colon Blow cereal.
#77
It's not a bobblehead, but one of the kodamas from Spirited Away. Can't you almost hear the rattling as they stare at you moving past them? If not then let me know, because one might be stuck in the ventilation system in my place.
#76
A very silent landscape where most people would miss out on the creatures stirring all around us.
#78
Look at this majestic creature! It's hard to believe the feats that this creature does sometimes.
#79
That majestic creature is God! At least, the Monty Python version of Him. He often gets really squash-y if they're not quite sure how to end a sketch. Wait, does God count as an animal? I mean, the anatomy certainly fits the bill, especially since man was supposedly created in His image, but he's the only one of his kind and also a divine and mythological entity ... but spirits counted as animals not too long ago with no question, as well as other cryptic and mythologica- http://i.imgur.com/t44IuqP.gif
#80
Okay, this one is for sure just a pile of leaves. Maybe it's just something really, really small?
#81
I admit that - especially from this angle - this is one of the more obscure references. The small thing I definitely found and highlighted in the picture is a piece of starmetal, but the animal is a fighter named Roy from Order of the Stick. Just look at this uncanny resemblance! http://i.imgur.com/JMGX52P.png
#82
And now, the final picture! It's been a long journey to get here, but maybe your eye is trained to see the real hidden animal in this picture?
#83
Wow, lots more than one animal hiding in this one! Well, four of these have eyes so there's probably at least one animal among the plant, fungus, and celestial bodies that contain those eyes, right? Anyway, the hidden thing here appears to be an explosion of Super Mario Bros 3 powerups, so hopefully no Mushroom Kingdom denizens run through this patch, or they might wreak havoc!
Well, that's all of them! I hope everyone enjoyed finally getting some long overdue answers to these conundrums. I just scribbled and typed a lot; I have to learn to put less effort into these things.
samtherat6
Simply flawless.
