After spending the last 3 years exclusively reading children's books to my daughter, I'm trying to get back to reading my own stuff. I'm picking up where I left off in the Agent Pendergast series, so at least I have my next couple of books lined up. I'm still reading to my daughter constantly, but my therapist has been on me about doing things for myself, too.

I need to get back in too. My free time dropped off after Two Graves, but I love the Penderghast series.

I loved the series but I really think the last few books jumped the shark

That’s the second time today I’ve come across the phrase jump the shark, having never heard in my previous 36 years. Maybe I should rethink my beach trip.

I'm in the same boat. The way they tiptoed that sci-fi / supernatural line for a long time was part of what I really loved about it, and then they done made some CHOICES. The new reluctant partner has been a solid addition imo, at least. And the spinoff series with Nora and Corrie has been pretty fun, although they've quickly gotten into a similar pickle.

Are you up to date on the series?

I am not lol. I stopped at book 3? I've had the series on my wishlist forever and keep making excuses not to spend on them 😅
