I have severe social anxiety, PTSD, depression, and really bad IBS... I've been looking for work since September but no one is calling me back. Finally got an interview but I am violently vomiting from my anus.

Fuck. 6 hours before I need to get ready to go. Really hoping I can do this.

The job is shitty but I really need a job so I'll take what I can get and hope my mental and physical health can handle it.

I get this way whenever I need to leave the house.

Just venting. I have no real friends to talk to about this... Sorry.

I used to get nervous stomach before job interviews. Don't eat a big meal before. Have a piece of bread or something. No caffeine. Bring a bottle of water with you so you don't get dry mouth. Get there super early so you can go to the bathroom right before the interview. You got this. Just remember it is just an hour in your life and try not to take it too seriously. When I get anxiety attacks I repeat 23 psalm and that helps. Repeat whatever words helps you. And be prepared with notes.

The job is shitty, and so are your pants? No one's calling you back, which is great news for your social anxiety? For real, though, sorry you're dealing with all that, hope my dumb jokes might've brought a chuckle or two. Good luck with the interview!

That's really shitty. Ironically, depressants might help.

Just remember it's only a job interview, you're interviewing them as much as they're interviewing you. Figuring out if you'd fit in there.

See if you can do the "Strike a superhero pose" thing. Folks suggest doing the hands on the hips, chest puffed out, etc.

See, our bodies are stupid and they think that if we're posing in a "winner" way like the superhero pose or both hands in fists over your head, that the person attached to those limbs must be winning, and it makes us more confident and risk-accepting.

Because our wiring is basically just a random jumble of parts stuck together with gum, metaphorically speaking.

You can do it. But maybe bring spare pants just in case

I used to use Imodium AD to stop the rear door water works. Once that’s under control I can usually fake my way through the rest. That anxiety is lying to you. We both know that but it doesn’t make it quieter.

I keep a bottle around for just such occasions. Mine goes bananas the second my anxiety kicks up too.

I’m SO sorry. I feel this in my soul. I also have diagnosis of IBS and depressive and anxiety disorders so I’ve been there. I had to break the rules during the test ACT exam in high school because I was not going to shit myself in class because some guidebook is afraid I’ll leave the room to cheat really quick. I missed the entire math section, which was my most feared subject because I’m so bad at it. I still struggle but now I also have skin and hair issues to make it all much much worse

Exema? I have that. Around and in my ears. On my face. On my inner thighs and near my crotch. Not fun. And my hair is thinning and falling out thanks to the anxiety and shit. I feel you.

You can do it! But for future, have you considered talking to a doctor? There are prescriptions that when used responsibly can help with the anxiety part at least.

I'm on meds. I can only take them sparingly as I have no insurance or doctor to prescribe them .. or money to do either. I took them but they only help so much. I'm on three different meds for my mental health and two for my IBS, and they only help so much. That's how bad my anxiety/PTSD are and how bad they trigger my IBS.

Possibly got the job. Waiting for them to get back to me but he seemed to think I'd be a good fit.
