This isn't that surprising really.
The Lehi proudly called themselves fascist and tried to work with the Nazis, its commander Yitzhak Shamir later became Prime Minister.
They employed Otto Skorzeny to penetrate the security provided by ex-SS personnel Egypt was using for its ballistic missile program in the 1950s.
They worked with South American dictatorships that provided refuge for and employed Nazis and persecuted their Jewish populations, and still to this day refuse to release the government documents pertaining to this to the survivors 'to prevent international embarassment'.
Today they work with Neo-Nazis like Viktor Orbán and defend Elon Musks sieg heil.

Then I recommend including that one first, as it's a major one that people block for their own sanity.

It really sounds like not only was the sudden 'creation' of the state of Israel poorly planned, but that we very much handed the keys to that nation to a bunch of psychopaths who had gone mad from the horrors of WW2.

It wasn't poorly planned, from the start the British wanted a westernized outpost in the region capable of acting on its behalf. As Britains star waned the US rose to prominence and found Israel to be similarly useful

Oh I'm not saying the decision itself was just impulsive. I just mean that if they wanted a stable and enduring ally (and we agree that was the purpose, an allied beachhead in the middle east), they would have taken a little more time to work out the partitioning. But it's possible that they also underestimated the tide of nationalism that would sweep the new Israel once it was founded. How little respect their leaders would actually have for us, because they are "God's Chosen".

The Lehi paramilitary (a fascist org) was created in 1940, same one that asked hitler for support in creating a jewish state. Rothschild was funding the Zionists by the second Aaliyah (1904). So you have a rich English colonial, funding fascist Zionism, and bringing in traumatized victims that were very easy to radicalize with religion (not too dissimilar from extremist groups). You get an extremist fascist ethno-religious state.

Lehi were a splinter of Irgun, Irgun was a splinter of the Haganah a militia the Jewish Agency was allowed to create by the British colonial administration after the Arab 'Revolt' in 1936 (curious that indigenous people objecting to foreign rule are called revolts and rebellions like they have no legitimacy)
