Well, after years of working up the nerve, I've finally completed my first "game". It's a short test - only about 5-10 minutes long. But it has everything a game could have! Jumps, combat, puzzles - even a boss!
I made the game using Unity. I've played around with UnrealEd before and just couldn't get the hang of it. Unity made a lot more sense, and C# was a lot like other languages I've learned in the past. I spent a few days watching tutorial videos, but couldn't resist getting started on my own! 2 weeks later, I completed my first game!
Since this is just a test, I wanted to make my game free to play for all. You can download a free copy for Windows on my website here at https://www.leechdemon.com/portfolio-items/side-test/. If enough people like it, I'm hoping to spend about 3 months working on another project. Last but not least, I had a lot of fun working on this, so let me know if you have any suggestions or complaints, or general questions about my project.
Happy gaming!!

I'll try it on my lunch break! I love side scrollers

Thanks! Yeah, the older I get, the more I miss classic videogames. My end goal is a Metroidvania or Roguelike; puzzles, attacks, maps, etc.

Thanks, I appreciate it! Trying to get 100 plays and 10 wins. Almost hit my "win" goal, but a ways to go on plays, still. Anyways, enjoy!
