This is what I am cooking up today. Listen to that sizzle. I can’t wait to eat these! The kids wanted birria tacos, but didn’t want them to be spicy. So I made homemade birria stew in the slow cooker and fried these up.

You could probably throw some dried California or New Mexico chiles in there. They are very mild compared to other dried chiles and it would give a bit more authentic of a birria flavor.

True and that is tasty, but the kids don’t like that. They wanted zero spicy unfortunately.

I'm going to try this, because the "authentic" birria I made last time was too much spice for one of the people I cook for. Thanks!

I made the spicy one before as well, and I have a couple people who can’t do the spice. This recipe everyone was able to eat it’s not spicy at all.

I fucking love birria anything but it goes straight through me. Every time and damn near instantly.

Maybe you’re allergic to peppers. I know someone that that happens to, and turns out they were allergic to peppers and didn’t know. Their doctor figured it out.

Do you put any water in the pressure cooker with the ingredients?
ourlittlechateau
It depends. If it’s an instant pot with a burn gage then yes because it says it’s burning if I don’t (1/2 cup broth of your choice). If it’s a crockpot, or instant pot without a burn gage then I don’t add liquid, because the meat makes the liquid.

Okay. Any excuse to include homemade broth is welcome. Thanks for the reply!
