Waifu is visiting Japan now. She took some photos of Sakura in the neighborhood. Bonus fact, she can see Mount Fuji from her parents house. I really need to go back.
Got back from Japan a few weeks ago, blossom season was just kicking off early, it was fantastic without all the crowds, I noted my wife was already looking at places to visit when we inevitably go back.
Seems the Japanese have over 1200 years of data on the date the cherry blossoms reach their peak. Another demonstration of climate change. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-56574142
not necessarily - it's called "climate change" because although _on average_ the biosphere gets warmer, some places can get colder, like European Atlantic coasts if the warm currents weaken.
I was there in January. Amazing place. Their culture, the people, just how they do everything is better but... For me personally after a few days it just started to feel the same.

This will become a dated picture in the not too distant future, as there will no longer be snow at the top of that mountain

Absolutely sad how much death is on the horizon because humans couldn't get our act together.
Nope, gotta boil and burn the planet so a few shareholders can make obscene profits.

I can't go there, but I'm saving this to look at. Maybe it will be my background

Basically money. Also. I'm single and uh... Low on friends that would have either time and/or money to adventure with.
