Need to add stars. Im debating if it needs a "bright side" highlights, like with white paint? Maybe I should paint the stars first? Im stuck here ive got painter's block if that's a thing.

I’d paint it drenched in ranch sauce

Painting while drenched in ranch dressing is difficult because the brush will keep slipping out of your hand and you can also slip and fall.

Are you using AI for the texture? I'd clean up the edging for sure and make sure it's spherical; it's rare for a planet not to be very close to spherical at this kind of distance. The inconsistency on the left edge was the first thing my eye saw; not sure if your dad is critical like me or not. I love the coloration in general and the idea for the painting!

Its a circle I used a bowl to paint around. I don't know how I would be using AI on a physical painting. I could touch up the tiny details on that edge yeah, thanks for pointing it out.

I'm not suggesting you should consider realism for your art here, but just as a fun fact, photos of celestial bodies with visible features don't have stars in them, and vice versa. Either the exposure times are too short to capture stars, or so long that the asteroid/planet/whatever becomes too bright to see its features.

Here's a couple OSIRIS‑REx photos of the asteroid Bennu that are a great example of this. (That spec in the background is us)

That's a cool interesting fact thanks.
