I am finally starting to feel somewhat better after being horrendously sick for two weeks. Unfortunately one of the things that’s been helping is Dramamine which contains dimenhydrinate, an antihistamine that knocks your ass THE FUCK OUT and it takes so long for my body to shake it off much like it does melatonin.

I have learned to take child doses or else Im out cold for a solid 8-12 fucking hours. I’ve also got vitamins and slowly I’ve been starting to be able to do things throughout the day but have to be careful or else I get dizzy.

Good news is that I booked the plane tickets to TN and we pay for the van when we get the keys, thank you so much to everyone who helped make this happen, being able to make this long trip wouldn’t be possible without your help! We leave in a few days and we will be staying overnight at a family friends so I have time to see my younger siblings that will be around at that point (I have 6. I’ll only get to see 3 of them but that’s fine) plus my oldest niece and my nephew (For those who remember, my nephews is now 10 months old and has a rare genetic disorder but he’s doing amazing, he’s such a mommas boy too. His treatments are going really well. He still has them every two weeks. Soon he will start them at home so they don’t have to travel 2.5 hours each way after spending 15 hrs at the hospital but he has to have a port put in first and he had to be 25 lbs first)

In other news, I have been looking at different things for inspiration for my next album and I freaking LOVE the electromagnetic recordings of Phobos and Deimos which are Martian Moons and sound EXACTLY like you think they would as well as Miranda, a satellite moon made of ice which orbits Uranus. Ganeymede which orbits Jupiter and Hoags object which is a rare ring galaxy 600 million light years from earth in the constellation Serpens and would be so amazing to emulate using my Microcosm pedal. I’ll probably start writing around the 15th after my harps have had time to settle in a much colder climate.

I also plan to save up for this desk because we will be making some room in the living room and my new home studio will be by the window. I’ve not had a desk to work at in 2 years (well even my last area wasn’t a desk. It was an old dresser) but it will be a major improvement from doing everything hunched over in bed like I did back home. Im just so eager to have my own space back for videos and more functional recording.

Im also looking for new places in the Saint Paul/Minneapolis area where I can FINALLY film and practice with my fire props without having the cops called on me. So if any local fire performers have spots they can share, please let me know! <3

I'm always astonished by just how beautiful a harp sounds. Bowed instruments have all those harsher harmonics, but harps are just incredibly sweet.

Oh bowed instruments are definitely interesting for their sound and waaaay harder to master lol. This was my recent find that I absolutely love

Glad you're feeling better!!! And great to hear you're reconnecting with your stuff.

I love your planet sounds inspiration. A great idea for a project. Along those lines, one of my favorite orchestra pieces is Holst's "The Planets." Its such a cool audio journey, perhaps it can provide some similar inspiration. I have it on CD Here is a little about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Planets

Also try getting in touch with the Minneapolis Fire Collective, they have IG and FB.

Yea I’ll finally have my torches, fans, fire fingers, palm torches etc so now just to look for places around here. I was thinking several of the lakes would be a good idea, especially away from people so there’s no distractions or anyone to snitch lol You never know when you’ll encounter a wild Karen…

And yea I just realized that this coming Sunday marks 3 weeks I’ve been feeling this way. I’ve only been able to do some things since yesterday so I’m still taking my time.

“Grand Harpsicle” sounds like a very expensive, artisanal popsicle

Cheap Harpsicles for sale; no strings attached.

Lmao I know right. When I first discovered Harpsicle Harps around 13-14 years ago, that was my thoughts exactly about the entire line lol

My son's name is Harper and my husband calls him Harpsicle all the time. We didn't even know this was actually a type of harp.

Whoa, all of this info is so foreign. I haven't seen/heard from you since your pipes were bursting in TN. Lots must have happened since then

Ooooooh yea! I’ve posted an update over time. I ended up having to move out of that place with my sister, the property manager we had at that point in time apparently NEVER put me on the lease and never updated the fact my sister had a job. So when we got an all new maintenance team and property management, lease renewals came around and if we’d renewed the lease, we would’ve owed over $7,000 in back rent. So 3 days before Christmas, I could only leave with what I could fit in 2 bags. 1/2

And I’ve been up in MN since then because I had no way to go get my stuff back. But since then I’ve started a GoFundMe and several people were able to help me get the majority of my stuff back come here soon. Thankfully I made sure to film videos like crazy before I left. I’ve only got 1 pre filmed video left at this point tho.

Dang, wow. I'm glad things worked out. Have you been having any issues in your community with the insanity that's been going on?

I also have massive fears for my family back home because TN welcomes this mess with open arms. I have a younger brother who’s half Puerto Rican and many family members who are half Mexican so the fear that so many people who’ve I’ve watched be born, graduate and grow up are targets for sick fucks just because they’re brown.

Oh yea, Living in the heart of it all. My boyfriend has two coworkers who were neighbors to Alex Pretti. They lived at the same complex. one of them heard the shots that were fired when he took his dog out before work. At the time he obviously didn’t know what it was and by the time their shift rolled around, my boyfriend walked in to them sitting at the front tables just completely silent. It’s also been stressful due to him being Ottawa and Mexican. He’s had so many nightmares about ICE…

There’s a “less drowsy” Dramamine (or generic) that might help.

I tried that one too but it had the same effect. I don’t think also being exhausted as hell from just being so sick in general helps because I was so nauseated that it was literally impacting my dreams and making it so difficult to get any sleep (which is already hard for me anyway lol) and because my bodies still trying to catch up now that I’ve been taking multivitamins etc for a few days. I’m mostly just having to take things super slow or else I get dizzy and have to lay down anyway 😮‍💨

Diphenhydramine literally shuts your brain down, albeit slowly and in a controlled dose. Take it for a lifetime and it can actually harm your brain. Get well soon.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea I’ve been taking it in much smaller doses. Thankfully haven’t needed it for two days now because I like being able to somewhat function. Thankfully today the only thing I’ve dealt with is a headache 😮‍💨

Plus it’s also absorbed by your liver so having to take that on top of any Tylenol, Aleve etc is a hard mix on your body as it is.

Did you try Meclizine as well? Brand name of Bonine. Sometimes less drowzy inducing.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve never even seen that before to be honest lol I didn’t start taking Dramamine until about 5 days ago. Before then I’d tried pepto and a few other OTC things but they didn’t touch the nausea at all.

Meclizine is more common in my pharmacy, and makes some people less drowsy, worth a try.

For some people it doesn't matter what model of instrument they play, they always make it sound good, like you do. Looking forward to hearing you play it.

I’m looking forward to having everything back. We’ve got to make alooot of room in the apartment tho.

Story of my life!!! Hahahaaa, trying to sort the things I want to keep from the junk and detritus I've accumulated along the way!!!

Yea my boyfriend has a lot of stuff he’s needed to get rid of for years but he just hasn’t because he hasn’t had the help to get it down 3 flights of stairs. There’s a mattress and box spring in the closet that belonged to his parents when they lived here and we’ve gotta reorient the couch so I can have room for a desk, my amps etc while also keeping room for his amp, guitar and the tv😅😮‍💨
