Keep your hands off Eizouken!

I just started watching this amazing gem.

I follows the story of 3 students as they not just persu a dream of making anime of hash out the real and unreal mechanics behind the actual creative process.

A beautifully animated fever dream. Brought to life by Masaaki Yuasa, originally created by Sumito Ōwara.

It takes a powerful work to show a heartless money grubbing producer that must constantly keep a couple of unrestrained creatives grounded as a hero.

Each part of the trio absolutely required for the success of their mission.

Kanamori: the hard ass producer in question that plots and scenes are just as focuses on keeping the band together as well as profitable.

Asakusa: the awkward gremlin that is obsessed with the nuts and bolts of what makes a world. Much of the anime is spent exploring the intricate worlds she creates and the realistic design that brings them to life.

Mizusaki (left): rich kid rebel and animator. Rejecting her parents demands she be an actress, she has devoted herself to breathing life into the worlds Asakusa creates.

The entire series is a love letter to the industry, the process, the everything, that is animation.

And I don’t mean your stereo typical romp through “anime culture”. If you have ever put your heart and soul into writing, drawing, creating, this is for you. Anime is the medium but world building is the real subject.

If you take a look, and it’s your jam, I would suggest the other works of the director. Masaaki Yuasa is becoming a legendary name in anime right now and nearly everything he has touched has been pure gold.
