When I did karate I remember being annoyed at people landing hits too hard. Anyone can hit hard. Skill was being as fast as humanly possible but still only tap the partner.
Its kind of wild we haven't moved on to metric, since all our units have been defined against the metric system since the civil war, anyway. Feet are base 12, incase you were actually asking.
