Donald Trump announced plans to attend oral arguments at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, the first sitting president on record to do so, as the justices hear his administration's challenge to the Fourteenth Amendment.

Today, three federal judges drew lines he wasn't expecting. Judge Leon, a Bush appointee, halted the $400 million White House ballroom and told Trump he is the steward of the building, not the owner. An Obama appointee permanently blocked his defunding of NPR and PBS as unconstitutional. And one of Trump's own appointees struck down his attempt to rig homeless housing grants with political loyalty tests.

His response to a day of judicial rebuke is to go sit in the room where the biggest constitutional question of his presidency will be argued and dare the justices to look at him. The norms he's broken have always been grounded in law he chose to disregard. The courts reminded him of those laws today, and they'll have the chance to do it again Wednesday. Tell your senators through Resistbot and 5 Calls that the judiciary is holding him accountable and Congress needs to do the same, especially with a national address tonight about the war he started.

I'm with you. Great story in today's issue about EPA's methane regulator being the lobbyist a couple of years ago.

At this rate, he is going to have to reactivate the Nimitz.

It’s not the Iran war. It’s trumps war, israel’s war, epstein class war, or the usa war. Use the right name. Iran didn’t start this. That’s the problem with usa. You go around starting wars and always misname them. Your country has been at war 222-235 years of your existence. I’d say you’re the problem.

#9 - this is a criminal enterprise where Trump makes fraud "great again" for the white collar class.

Conversion therapy is dangerous and scientifically proven not to work. Scientific fact is not a “free speech issue”. Kids and adults have been and will be further harmed by these practices.

#5 always remember: he is not a king, there is no ruling by edicts, just declaring things does not make them law

1 week ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

And yet that doesn't stop him from being able to get away with it time and time again. Congress and scotus won't tell him no unless it's after months of deliberation, and they're not seeing any kickback for it.

#5 "I didn't command it, I Executive Ordered it!" Executive order these nuts, President Rapecrime.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Let him build his big beautiful ballroom, then have inspectors say the structure is not sound and people are forbidden from entering or using the room for any reason. Then fine Trump $1,000,000 per person who enters the ballroom because you know Trump won't care about any condemnation status and host thousands of people and countless events anyways. Then, the second he's kicked out of office rig the ballroom with demo charges and force Trump to press the button and watch it explode.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks @GeorgeBounacos , as always. #5 just another step in trying to rig the vote, I HIGHLY recommend anyone who has the ability to change party affiliation on their voter registration, do so soon and become an unaffiliated voter. Though they may purge anyone who is a Republican. 😖

1 week ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

You're welcome. Luckily I live in Virginia where party affiliation is not part of a voter's registration.

https://www.koco.com/article/oklahoma-voter-party-change-deadline-june-primaries-independent/70899096 Oklahoma doesn't recognize unafilliated/independant. https://oklahoma.gov/elections/voter-registration/political-party-info.html The state banned all independent voters from voting in any primary. They forced a mass change of registration that ended yesterday.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

*technically* in Oklahoma each party has to manually opt in to letting independents vote in their primaries. The democrats fucked up and didn't get their opt in in on time and the republicans & libertarians never gave a fuck about what independents thought. So because no party opted in independents can't vote in any primaries. They however are currently trying to remove some independent voters who registered without marking independent via hb3722

#9 And how many of those investigations were on the murderers and rapists that ICE is supposed to be catching? When they were in Chicago, they never went into the 'bad' part of town. I guess they were afraid of people who would shoot back.

Jfc. Conversion therapy is pseudoscience that causes actual harm and increases the likelihood of suicide. If adults want to try that shit that's on them, but how can a child in a coercive environment consent to it?

Anyone notice how gas prices were going up around 5 to 10 cents every day until the price reached around $3.98? Then it only went up or down a decimal point or so?
It was almost as if someone was trying to NOT go over $4 as some kind of artificial barrier.
Then yesterday it finally broke to $4.01 and today it went up 5 cents.
So what does this mean about the contrived nature of price setting by the corporations?

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's not what I saw, but gas isn't actually at $4 here yet. But I think there's a form of inoculation that goes on. The price goes up a little, you get used to that, it goes up a little more, etc.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My comment was quite specifically about national averages because there are so many factors that go into your own local prices that it makes comparison impossible.
But I've been looking at national averages almost every day for a month and the pattern I saw as I described above is EXACTLY what happened.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We are both seeing the contrived price setting, just from different points of view.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

100% I believe it's the typical price gauging. Happens before it even gets turned into gas too

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How do you do this everyday and not be depressed

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you for asking. I really appreciate that. It does come out sometimes although I've always had an ability to compartmentalize things. That can make seem aloof or just cold, but I think it is more self-preservation. The things that really get me make literally yell and curse at the screen.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So understandable, it’s good to be informed but sometimes it weighs heavy on you. Thank you for everything you do

I really fucking hate these people.

But today, my eye was particularly drawn to #8. Just the sheer fucking petty bullshit. "CARRY ON, PATRIOTS! KEEP WASTING THAT TAXPAYER MONEY SO HAS-BEEN REGIME-FRIENDLY ALLEGED CELEBRITIES CAN GET PROPAGANDA SHOTS! NO NEED TO FOLLOW THE CHAIN OF COMMAND OR NOTHING!"

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was especially heinous because he said it after they had been suspended. I can't imagine the schisms going on in every unit between those who like him and those who loathe him.

As a former Forest Service employee, #4 is wild. They're shifting from 9 regions to ~15 "state offices" and moving all research into a singular building

I appreciate your perspective because I don't have much knowledge about the inner workings. The research consolidation worries me though.

I have much love for a lot of Americans,

It is your Government that I have utter disdain for.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I saw a post about this... Americans may be on one of the richest trains in the world, and may be, on average, more wealthy than average people in some other countries, but the fact is, most americans live Paycheck to Paycheck. On that train, they are effectively chained inside their luggage in the cargo hold while the billionaires are running the train off the tracks and sniping anyone who dares to try and climb up from the cargo hold, yelling about how fortunate they are to be on the train.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Paycheck to paycheck, and one medical event from bankruptcy. (With our healthcare tied to our jobs, if we're lucky enough.)

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Drastically simplified version of the post I saw, but that was the gist of it.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There was a scene in "The Handmaid's Tale" on a train that resonates.

Gas has been over $4 for years, but its coming up on $6 to $7. Fuck this war and fuco this administration. Thanks @Op for your updates. Sometimes they are hard to read, so I can't imagine how hard it is to put them together everyday. You're a G.

1 week ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Yeah, when they say gas prices per gallon they MUST qualify it by grade.

Regular gas had gotten as low as $2.79 / gal for regular in my locale... briefly. Now, the same gas station is charging $3.99 / gal, as of 2 days ago. Premium? It's already past $6 USD, as reported by a friend of mine who lives in LA.

Idk how taxes in america work but could it be that one of you is talking about the gasprice without tax and the other one about what you actually pay at the pump?

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No, the other is talking about gas prices in their particular locale. Here in NorCal I've seen around $6.00. However, when talking politics, better to use the national average.

I was indeed trolling them a bit.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I see i see. Im always confused when americans talk about what something costs if it includes the tax or not ^^ logically i would always assumer that the cost is what you pay for but... Im confused easy x)

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In the U.S., gas taxes are fixed excise taxes charged per gallon by both federal and state governments, rather than a percentage of the sale. Because these taxes are baked directly into the advertised price you see at the pump, consumers pay them invisibly. When people debate gas prices in politics, they almost always refer to the final price including the tax, since that is the real out-of-pocket cost affecting their wallets and driving their economic frustrations.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I think the $4 is just an average. I know some states, like California, have been at or near $4 a gallon for over a decade: https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/leafhandler.ashx?n=pet&s=emm_epm0_pte_sca_dpg&f=m

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

way ahead of you, bro... read the other comments in this thread before replying, tx

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Most places it's around $4, yet lots of places (especially rural areas) are closer to $6. I got gas while traveling at a national park and it was ~$6/. At home, near the city, it's been close to $4. Out in the boonies, it's been over $5.
