Just a more thorough (in my humble opinion) handling of the GOP abortion meme.

Out of the frame is the lifeguard, (aka the American People), watching this all happen and not reacting as they should to fix the situation.

The system is not broken. It is working exactly as intended.

And yet the Elderly vote for them in large percentages. Teaching people to vote against their own interest has paid off in dividends for conservatives.

The ONLY thing Republicans have is "both sides are bad." 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 - politics is like any other relationship, it's you and the politicians. And like every other version of relationship, there's only two types: HEALTHY and ABUSIVE. Nobody in a HEALTHY relationship needs to say it's just as bad elsewhere because their relationship's great. And it's not the ABUSED person that needs to convince themselves it's bad elsewhere. It's always the ABUSER, keeping the abused person from leaving using F.U.D.

This is a little incomplete, though. This isn't really a purely social relationship, we're their boss. Actually more accurately their autarch, collectively; the entire singular purpose of their existence is to make us happy and make our lives better, and we have absolutely no responsibility to make their lives easy, and we are absolutely no beholden to them. Problem is that we have ceded this power and their lies have convinced us that the opposite of all of this is true.
Coreation
There's no biblically accurate jesus, just like there's no accurate Mohammed. Those books are full of contradictions to say the least. Ever wondered why everyone cherrypicks their way into those books and is "actually" correct?
ElbowDeepInAHeadlessHorseman
The difference is fundamental and vastly larger than a quibble over the semantics in the translation of one verse vs another. Republicans follow the prosperity gospel which is a scam, fabricated from whole cloth. If you take any bible and look for the core teachings straight from Jesus, like the sermon on the mount, Republican views and political stances are usually complete opposite of what Jesus instructs.
Coreation
Sure, there's that. There's also the "teachings of Jesus" versus "teachings from Gods written word". In other words, the stories in the Bible that lead to recent / current stances on stem cell research (not playing God), abortion (life begins at...), gay marriage, and the entire gender issue is backed by Jesus "teaching": Matthew 19:4-6. So..., I don't care about any particular religion, I think they're all bad. But Christianity and Islam are currently taking the lead in inducing bigotry.

The video is worse, daunting. Not at all casual watching for the unwary if you really want to see how bad it was. He didn't seem to understand that they were fucking with him by commanding him to sit in what's conventionally called a "stress position." They literally bullied him to death while he screamed for mercy.

Ahh yes, torture, what I want from my police. Remember kids, ACAB, just because one did something nice once doesn't change the fact they're all operating in a structure of dominance, control, and abuse.

yeah, buuuut have you considered the fact that dems aren't perfect...so therefore it's pretty much a wash on both sides being kinda not great.

Okay, most of these are good points, but I’m confused as to why fetuses are on there, Republicans seem to care a lot about the rights of developing children/fetuses/etc, and while it can be argued that they’re really just “suppressing the rights of women”, just because they have one agenda doesn’t mean they can’t have another that works towards the same goal. Also confused as to the difference between the two Jesuses. Can someone offer an explanation?
ElbowDeepInAHeadlessHorseman
Oh man, you're gonna make me TYPE today... here we go. Put together your own top ten list of things laws that could be of the most benefit for fetal viability... I would guess it would have things on the list like taxpayer funded access to pre-natal health care for regular checkups by an obstetrician... taxpayer funded access to food stamps so that lower income persons who are pregnant can have access to healthy food... enactment and strict enforcement of regulations about how many (more)
ElbowDeepInAHeadlessHorseman
pollutants can be introduced into the environment and food chain that can affect fetal development, workplace laws that allow women with high risk pregnancies to go on bed rest if recommended by a doctor without being fired... things like these and many more which would actually be beneficial for fetal health are all OPPOSED by Republicans. They HATE this type of legislation. The ONLY thing they want is forced birth and that's it because it's a control knob for them. More on Jesus in a sec.

Jesus... nice guy. Have you ever read the sermon on the Mount? I don't mean some rando priests interpretation of the sermon on the mount. I'm not even gonna give you my interpretation of the sermon on the mount. Go read the biblical text itself when you have some time. It's probably a 15 minute read or so, more if you really wanna soak it, but that sermon basically IS Christianity straight from the source. It's not the disciples telling you what to wear to church, it's not old testament
ElbowDeepInAHeadlessHorseman
garbage, it's just Jesus laying the whole thing out. If you read that, and soak it in, you will find it is 180 degrees diametrically opposed to the prosperity gospel that evangelicals follow. You can take any of the teachings from the sermon on the mount and evangelicals will likely suggest the opposite. I mean literally the opposite of what came out of Jesus's mouth. It's sick. As for the scam part, prosperity gospel (which they all follow) is nigerian prince email scam. (more)

They all follow this perverted view that by donating their wealth to the church, that god will provide them with a larger material reward down the road. God has billions of dollars locked away and just needs some help with import fees to get it to them (exaggeration of the view, but it's the same structure). Give to God now, get more back from God later. It's completely self-focused and selfish. Shit's a cult. (done now, but that's why two Jesuses). GOP hates the one from the bible.
