I spent many years supporting Israel, at least in principle if not always in practice. I thought, and still think, hey have a right to exist and a right to *defend* themselves. I think many of the ideologies championed by groups which have pitted themselves against Israel to be utterly horrific.
They've always had flaws, some grotesque, but these last few years have been pure fascist insanity. Anyone who supports *this* Israel and *this* government deserves to burn in the deepest pits of hell.

To answer your question, war crimes are held accountable via two processes based on where they are being prosecuted. 1) internally via that nation’s own military tribunals, which requires that nation to agree that the actions are war crimes (rare), or 2) someone brings the perpetrators to the ICC, which requires that the nation being held responsible is actually a signatory/member of the ICC AND that people can actually be brought to charges. 1/2

The US, despite openly committing MANY war crimes (hello CIA) CANNOT be tried in the ICC, for example, because they refused to recognise the ICC’s power as an international criminal court and are not part of any treaties requiring membership (mostly because they strongarmed out of it as a superpower to avoid prosecution).

Here’s the issue though, A) the US does not, will not and cannot acknowledge any rulings as they are, by the ICC’s own rules, illegitimate wherein a nation or individual acting under a nation’s orders (or not) is not a member, and B) the rulings aren’t enforceable anyway since the US can literally just strong arm and leverage its power to get whoever is taken there handed to US custody instead of actually going to trial (which has happened before iirc)

They demand that Palestinians leave Palestine, despite having nowhere to go, while they take regular vacations in their home countries that they can easily return to.
