I've given my share of dinner parties. Usually, everyone is just so happy and grateful to get out of the house and relax, that you're already starting as a winner. Despite all the work, I've always enjoyed myself. Good luck.

I've started hosting parties every couple months too. January was my birthday, made pulled beef nachos. This Saturday is poutine. May will be chips and queso, carne asada sausage, frijoles charros, Mexican rice and escabeche, Caesar salad and arroz con leche. July I'm booking a cookout at a park nearby.

Love it! But have a back-up in mind in case it all goes to hell. Not to aim for, just so you know you have a safety net and can worry less about the food not going right. Like: you can always order pizza (I've done that before when I've burned everything)
