You got this. If anything goes wrong, just roll with it and laugh it off. Don't feel like everything needs to be perfect.

I've given my share of dinner parties. Usually, everyone is just so happy and grateful to get out of the house and relax, that you're already starting as a winner. Despite all the work, I've always enjoyed myself. Good luck.

Is nervous pooping a thing? If so, get it out early!

better a Dinner party than a Donner party!

I've started hosting parties every couple months too. January was my birthday, made pulled beef nachos. This Saturday is poutine. May will be chips and queso, carne asada sausage, frijoles charros, Mexican rice and escabeche, Caesar salad and arroz con leche. July I'm booking a cookout at a park nearby.

You got this OP!

I basically designed my main living space around hosting dinner parties. Just take care of your guests, be a good host. It is your gathering, you get to set the tone and the vibe. Congratulations, have a great time.

Break out the board games. Settlers of Catan is always fun at a dinner party.

I thought it was just called Catan now?

Was going to mention that having some sorta fun activities/ game is key to good hosting .... glad to hear Catan is still being mentioned!!!!

Thanks doing corn beef cabbage and potatoes so it’s hard to mess up lol but the nerves are real

Love it! But have a back-up in mind in case it all goes to hell. Not to aim for, just so you know you have a safety net and can worry less about the food not going right. Like: you can always order pizza (I've done that before when I've burned everything)

Good luck, hope it's a great time!

Absolutely no critisism or negativity, I’m just wondering: I see people using lol everywhere in sentences and it makes for Europeans not much sense. Is this a North-American thing? Also, have fun at your party and enjoy!!

It can mean many things. Genuine Laughter, Sarcasm and Irony, Filler or Acknowledgment, Self-Deprecation, Empathy or Politeness, and even others.
