Oh yeah. The pain was very temporary. But of all the injuries I've suffered, that was the worst by a lot.

Hey, OP, that's an awesome shirt to wear to the dentist! Also, not to make you jealous but I wore a book dress book cardigan to work today: as soon as I stepped in the door, a colleague ran up to me with a gift - a book scarf - to "match my lovely dress." Then, when I was using some decorative tape I had brought from home another colleague said "with your pretty dress and pretty tape, you have the best patterns." And then a stranger came up to me in the supermarket and said she loved my dress :D

I went for my first root canal a few years ago and was quite nervous 'cause I'd heard horror stories of how much they hurt when I was a kid. Turned out to be non-event. Good drugs and 45 minutes later I was out of there with a numb lip but zero pain.

Alternate story! My wifes dentist (when she was a kid) didn't believe her when she said she could still feel pain. (She has a tolerance for normal anesthesia) So he eventually had to stop due to the amount of crying and complaining from her. She stuck up more for herself since then and hasn't had any problems, but it makes it pretty easy to see where horror stories come from...

Yes, indeed.. and I'm grateful for it. Still have my own teeth at 65 - by the time my Dad was my age, he'd had a full set of dentures for 20 years already.

it's gotta be a good dentist. some new guy bought up my original dentist's practice and decided to root canal a filling I'd already had, punched through up hard enough that I started bleeding from the nose. Found a new one immediately afterwards.

No matter what dentist I go to, I always feel pain. They inject, they wait, I still feel pain. They sometimes inject again, still feel pain. Led to a lifelong dental phobia, recently I paid much more money to be put under for a tooth extraction. :(

I was white knuckling the chair getting a cavity worked on recently. They switched to the other side to work on the second and I relaxed.
"Was the other side painful? Could you feel it?"
Like no I just have a hobby of acting like I'm in pain. YES.

I had a root canal last year, laid me up for a week because it triggered non stop migraines that caused a negative feedback loop with the nerves and made my face hurt, that made the migraines worse. Hopefully you're just a bit sore.

I'm at 9 hours in. My 2nd round of advil. I now have full function of my face muscles. I ate a meal with no pain. It has been 5 months. Next week im making cookies

I had two done recently, the procedure itself was fantastic, the staff and doctor were lovely, but then I got home and ooooooohhhhh BOY was my jaw upset with me. Still 100% worth it.

I know the whole variety show series (Aka the thing that made the Muppets famous) are on Disney+, one of the few things I think it's worth having the service for. Beyond that, you can probably locate free methods of watching it. The whole series is a time capsule of American pop culture at the time
