No Kings is kinda useless

And then they don't bomb a Wal-Mart.

We can expect a video similar or worse than shit bombing.

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

So because its not perfect it's useless. What are you doing about it besides this? Nothing?
If the answer is nothing, I think you should redefine useless.

I'm kind of like Lone Watie in "The Outlaw Jose Wales," I've been on strike for 16 years but they haven't noticed yet.

They took away your right to abortion and you didn't burn down a single government building. Pathetic.

This

Why are you assuming that people who attend NK protests aren't doing other things?

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Trump is still alive.

He regularly goes and stands out in the middle of a golf course. Drones are readily available. So are steel BBs. In some states you can buy an entire tub of black powder without a license. You can wire the power switch of an electric arc lighter to the search light led on the drone so you just turn on the light for the drone to ignite the lighter. Ukraine has several training videos on YouTube about how to put all this information together...

Protest with a direct message to every senator and member of Congress. No Kings is catchy, but ineffective.

Instead, protest with " Impeach and prosecute Trump, Vance, and their Secretaries or we vote you out". Make that catchy and make it loud. Make them understand that having ICE agents at the polling booths won't save them.

Public protests work when they rally for action.

It's my feeling that elected representatives do pay attention to these protest turnouts and consider how much of that represents their voting constituents. It's likely it influences them in some way, big or small.

Studies have shown that public opinion has almost no affect on government policy at the federal level

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Any word on state and local levels from those studies?

Everyone wants someone else to do the work. As long as most white people still feel comfortable not a damn thing will change. Most probably want to go back to right before Trump 2016, and would still vote for a Republican.

And everyone who posts shit like this, are doing the EXACT same performative thing they are railing against. Show me the videos of you doing something that you are calling for? Show us that you are more than an online performance. You can't. Because you aren't. Glass houses. Throwing stones. Etc. Etc. My son and I go out and protest. We are part of an organization that fights for worker's rights. We donate our time, energy and money to help. So kindly fuck off.

This was pretty much my response when a friend invited me to “go to a protest”. Oh you mean go hang out in a crowd on a Saturday afternoon? It must be a fuckin joke to the ruling class

Protestors can be recorded with face recognition-capable software to be filed in the government's database & their movements tracked because I'm guessing at least half of them bring their phones.

Do not give them that information!
Wear a mask or face paint to disguise facial features. Driving there exposes your ID as well due to license plate readers. Take public transit & pay fares in cash. Bring extra change. If you don't have a burner phone, leave the phone at home. Remain safe.
Peace.

I’m convinced we only learn about the protests that are approved by the government actors telling the tech industry which organizations/events their social media algorithms should suppress.

fuck off

2 weeks ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 14

I second this reply. Just trying to keep people out of the streets.

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 7

Wrong. We need people in the streets. We need them doing more than performing though. We need to march a million people into the halls of every state Congress building, every single governor's mansion, the halls of Congress in DC, and we need them to camp there and to fight the cops who try to oust them. We need to take our country back and it won't happen without force. They will lie to us to get us to back down. We need to hold them accountable.

You fuck off. OP is right.

How does a general strike work anyways? We can only afford what we need to survive anyways. The economy isnt gonna care if i wait until the weekend to buy toilet paper and food, vs buying it on Wednesday. Everything we were gonna buy during the strike will still be needed when the strike ends. It basically just gives the system a slow day and a busy day. U get to wait in line and waste your time the day the strike ends to get the same stuff u would have bought anyways without a lineup...

A general strike means everyone just stops working until demands are met. Not buying things for a day or weekend is NOT a general strike and kind of performative as you've noticed.

The problem isn't that the people aren't committed to protesting effectively, it's that the owner class has made people so desperate that they can't. They've dismantled all our protections over decades. People can't afford to miss one paycheck, how can they strike? This is horrendously dangerous because it takes the peaceful option off the table. All we have left is the "burn it all down" phase and I'm sure as hell worried.

I dunno what the distribution is like in Nazi America, but there are supermarkets all over the place here. Just take it. What are they going to do? Arrest everyone? Only if you let them 🤷‍♂️

2 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Indeed!

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

let's fucking go!

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sure, but your options at this point are basically do the right thing anyway or it gets worse. There's no hiding from this, and nobody is coming to save us.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or like the rail union, they're "not allowed to strike." Which honestly, fuck that law, because if your strike isn't considered illegal, is it really a strike?

2 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's better than doing literally nothing, but I do mostly agree.

2 weeks ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Yep, it shows people they aren't alone no matter how much they scream at you that you are.

It's a symbol. And the protests should be used as a way to network with like minded individuals for further resistance.
