I think it’s similar to slap bracelet technology if any other old farts on here tonight.

And that was a paid for advertisement.

Gonna need to see a side-by-side of a new and old filter.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bro, you're far too easily amused. I hope you price checked that shit against normal costing filters.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can also buy a reusable filter. Better for your wallet over time and the planet. They do need cleaning.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My AC (well, inverter, it's a heat pump too) has a washable filter. No need to produce even more garbage.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I use these too, have for a while now

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're happy to see you

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those are some expensive ass filters.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Took me a moment of looking at comments to realize this is for like large HVAC shit. I was gonna say my window A/C just has a cleanable one.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What happened to filters you washed in the bathtub? Wasn’t that fun?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shame they don't ship to Canada, those are really cool!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool. But that's not HEOA right?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just looked em up and they’re 3x the price.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

totally this comment right here

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everytime I go to the store, I'm like "damn it, I forgot to measure the air filter". Stil have no idea what size mine is

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I get my filters from this place too. Love em!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weird… I have second nature but I’ve never seen this!

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I think they are experimenting. The springy ones are packaged differently each time and I occasionally still get a regular one.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Are they good? Vs like 3M and Honeywell? ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok. Will admit I snorted at "snap bracelet technology"...

4 years ago | Likes 430 Dislikes 2

We have the technology!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just bought my daughters snap bracelets the other day.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I just throw nine in the washing machine once a month: https://airthreds.com/

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Interesting I have never heard of those. Anything you don't like about them?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just got one of these in May. Works pretty good so far!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its actually worked out well. You may need a second cover (they sell them) or a cheap filter to use while washing/drying

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But otherwise, I haven't noticed any difference compared to replaceable filters. Time will tell if they good up but so far so good (3rd mth)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The ones on their website look nothing like this. That have cardboard frames and metal strings. Link this one?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's the MERV on that bad boy?

4 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

It’s level 3 griffin.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like they have 8, 11, and 13.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Absolutely zero documents so I’m going to say it’s MERV is 69.

4 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Nice

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

MERV BITCH GET OUT THE WAY

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Nice

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nice.

Change your filter and clean the outdoor condensor. Just use a hose from a distance so you dont bend the fins.

4 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I have to do that all the time at certain points of the year. Cottonwood trees just fill that thing up with cotton.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fairly confident the 3 times daily sideways torrents of rain have taken care of that but I’ll have a look.

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Nipe, you still have to clean them

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Florida do be like that right now.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They have ‘combs’ to unbend fins

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Noon HVAC tech. This sounds dumb tho.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dumb, but they kinda work. You have to be skilled to use them properly and know when to NOT use them.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dont use those if you are not a hvac guy.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sounds like something an HVAC guy would say so he can change me 75 dollars for him to do it.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why do you change AC filters every month?

4 years ago | Likes 171 Dislikes 7

Ours replace at a similar time, all the smoke and pollution coming down weekly mucks them up and reduces the efficiency of the AC.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve been told that too. The AC techs usually follow it with “…but use the cheap super-basic filter”

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Filters build up lint, which after time restricts airflow. To keep air conditioner efficient it is recommended to change the filter monthly.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

HVAC filters should be changed pretty regularly, it's one fan system to filter/blow the WHOLE house, it's not 'normal' aircon

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Allergies maybe?

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Filters need changed/cleaned frequently here due to a local paper mill. 15th most pollutant in the US.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's Florida, so gets clogged up with corona particles real quickly

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My Frigidaire AC timer reminds you to clean the filter every 30 days.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well..dou you like growing bacteria, spores/fungi and other shit to breath?

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Just do 1st of the month and easy to remember. Change air filters, cycle water heater, add salt to softener, clean dryer vent, clean air vent

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 adults, 2 cats, 2 dogs, the filter is usually filled. We like breathing so I change the filters regularly.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why wouldn't you?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My AC (well, inverter, it's a heat pump too) has a washable filter. No need to produce even more garbage.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I go monthly because of cottonwoods, hayfarmers, forestfires, having 3 big hairy dogs, and asthma from lung scarring due to occupation.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

The damn fires had me coughing bad for a few weeks

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's recommended by manufacturers to change your filters monthly. Only have 1 or 2 people, no pets, no allergies you can go longer

4 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 2

So the people who sell the product recommend you replace it more often? Why ever would they do that?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oil changes every 3k

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the filter type. I have annual filters.. they're over 4" thick, MERV 13. Follow manufacturer direction.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah yes the recommendations of manufacturers who profit directly off how many filters you purchase

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 20

Probably don’t change your car oil or change/clean your car air filter either.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Ah yes the recommendations of the EPA to ensure you meet your SEER rating.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Yeah it's not like filters filter air and are slowly place for germ/spoee heaven..

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

You could use more expensive filters as well, but I've had a few different HVAC techs tell me cheap ones, changed often is the best

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I tend to buy on the higher end of the MERV ratings, and they're still full by the end of the month. DuPont and Filtrete.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same. Reasoning is that the more expensive filter make your A/C systems work harder because they are less porous.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I have wondered about this. Are there facts to back it up? not being sarcastic.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a 4" AprilAire filter box installed with my HVAC, MERV 13 filters last "up to" a year and cost $40

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Do you use a pre filter?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The HVAC people said not to bother, just one more filter to change, it it won't meaningfully extend the MERV 13 life.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We change merv13 box filters yearly and pre filters bi annually, but they're on fan walls of large buildings.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live in Florida and have 22 cats, 6 dogs, a rabbit, and an opossum.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What, no squirrels?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They live outside. I do feed them peanuts in an effort to keep them off the bird feeder.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do animal rescue.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oooooh, awesome! And thank you for doing that!!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For Florida conditions specifically that’s what’s been decided to be the most efficient. Wherever you are could be vastly different.

4 years ago | Likes 185 Dislikes 0

It’s probably due to the difference in humidity, but mine has a washable one plus a carbon one that switches every six months or so.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can confirm, Florida resident also and We get the exact same ones

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I would say changing filter every month is VERY good everywhere

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

In a sealed room yes, but in an AC it probably doesn't make any difference if you ever open a window or go outside.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It's also for efficiency and longevity for your air handler. Clogged filters will wear the motor out.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would be skeptical that replacing them monthly adds to longevity. I think it is wise to at least clean them but doubt you have to buy new

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I get the same one where do you put it I have no idea please help me

4 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

If you aren’t kidding do some research, there are several possibilities so if u look them all up you’ll find one like yours eventually.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

There is a big ass air intake somewhere in your house most likely a hallway ceiling.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seriously? Behind a louvered vent somewhere inside the house that’ll likely have a very dirty one.

4 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

Their reaction when they had central air installed 15 years ago and start reading this thread

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

You framed that with more elegant restraint than I could have.

4 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Literally, google it.. call a hardware store.. walk into Lowe's.. don't wait until you see a mildly relevant post to your RL. That guy.. lol

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Depending on where you live and how your home is built, they could be in the wall or ceiling. You could have one or several depending on 1/?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The size of the house. They also come in different sizes. SO, you're on a treasure hunt, lol. Look for a big metal square in the ceiling, 2/

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

First. It will look like what your car vents look like, with the lines across them. If you can't find it in your ceiling, look at floor 3/?
