I told her she might enjoy reading Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy and gave her my copy of The Golden Compass. Turns out she loved it and wants to read the next two before the HBO show comes out this fall!

Yes! I never read them as individual books I had the collection. I remember reading it as a kid. It made an impression for sure!
