Peas and thank you.

So when they say 'it's a nice day for ducks' when raining, they mean it. Myth: confirmed.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd never eaten duck meat and don't plan on it.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was told.there would be nudity here

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More ducks, please

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably a ton of bugs and worms out

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ducks out for Harambe!! I can't believe no one has posted this yet.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Good weather for them.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems like you should trim back just a little bit of that roof on their fencing and just have it be chicken wire on top as well so they can experience the rainfall from the safety of their enclosure.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Awww, yaaaaassss. Motherfucking peas.

1 year ago | Likes 252 Dislikes 2

I gave my ducks peas and they told me to feck off! Seed only!!!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They seem pretty ducking happy about it.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Il fait un temps de canard.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

water off a duck's back. i wish

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"water? I love water. And it's falling from the sky? This is amazing."

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Read it as dookies and got concerned

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is there a purpose to keeping ducks beyond as pets? I was under the impression they are not the most efficient egg producing animal.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Some breeds can be good layers. They are good for slug and snail control, and they are just fun little guys to have around.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ducks can lay just as many eggs as chickens.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That water is running off them like...something that really doesn't hold onto water well.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The desert?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

rain and peas. what more could they want? maybe a pond?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They do have one. They just weren't feeling like it atm

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

good show. of course, they wouldn't need the pond while all that water was just falling from the sky. they look very happy and that's what counts.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've heard giving ducks peas is great and bread should be avoided. Any peas alright or frozen peas?

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Bread, yes. You shouldn't give that to them. Frozen peas? That's fuckin mana from heaven for ducks and healthy for them.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Frozen peas are good, too

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

(fun fact, rats love pea-fishing. Toss frozen peas in a large, stable bowl of water and they'll go diving for them.)

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Either is fine!

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Porridge oats are better than bread too, and they go pretty nuts for actual bird seed

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Peas porridge hot? Or peas porridge cold?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well, peas are pretty delicious

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One feels like a duck splashing around in all this wet! And when one feels like a duck, one is happy!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10/10

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

What kinda ducks are these? That head shape is different (at least to me).

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Runner ducks. :)

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you:) They're very cute!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

are these pets? why don't they just fly away?

1 year ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Domestic ducks can't really fly. My back yard is pretty steep at the back end of it (we have acreage) and they'll taking a running leap to get down the hill, but they can really only kind flutter down there rather than actually fly.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They can't fly. They're happy healthy ducks though. Source: Have raised ducks and chickens for years (for eggs only)

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Most domesticated ducks are to heavy to fly

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

And those ducks are runner ducks they have lil Itty bitty wings

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

So that’s the breed, like tall hamsters. Do they have positive traits, like tasting good or eggs under 5 bucks?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure tbh. And eggs under 5 dollars???? Don't be absurd lol

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They eat bugs.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Their eggs generally cost more since they're more expensive to keep than chickens since they need water to swim in

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah ducks are incredibly smart, you can train them and they live for like 25 years. I live in Canada so you need a certain license unless your a farmer or something lol i wanted to get one. Apparently they poop everywhere though so a pen like this is necessary.

1 year ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 1

I've had to take care of ducks for someone else before. I fucking hate ducks now, and I'm usually an animal lover. They kept shitting in their food and water, not very nice, very noisy and overall just very messy. I found 0 positive things to say about ducks apart from looking kind of cool and tasting very nice

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Lol they certainly are delicious

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

you gotta muck out the poop all the time to prevent them from getting sick, and biologically they can’t be trained to only go outside. they are adorable but as pets they are exhausting.
source: my cousins have ducks

I want to get quail. I plan on having a bottomless hutch for them. I'm going to load up on mushroom compost to add the bottom for them to poo on. I'll likely move the hutch each month and till the fertilizer into my bermuda. I'm still doing research though. Fowl are shit factories that you really have to plan for.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Quail aren't too bad, especially if you give them a nice big sand bath! Keeps everything dry and easy to clean. Of all the poultry probably one of the less smelly 😁

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have to do a series on the process, sounds very interesting!! Would love to see how it all comes together. Good luck!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because these are "runners" specific breed of ducks usually used to take care of insects off all kinds... 😉

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Was about to comment this lol. They can't fly but man can they run.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've read they don't nest, just drop their eggs wherever and you have to go hunt them down.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not in my experience. They nest just fine and lay many an egg. Eggs are delicious too. They do shit everywhere, tho :/

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Duck eggs are so good.
