Fuck that. He was very obviously mad at himself. At no point was his anger directed outwards, and the pat on the back at the end is very clearly a mix of congratulations on the victory, with a lil apology (presumably for the intensity of the handshake). He's mad, yeah, but IMO he's still exhibiting good sportsmanship.
I've seen multiple clips of Magnus losing and he always does this. I think I've read a part of an interview once where he says that when losing he's always pissed of himself and never his opponent.
Magnus is so great, he has overcome his disability and earned his titles. There's no medication against being norwegian, you have to learn to live with it
I don't know, I don't think Magnus really did anything wrong here. He was frustrated that he lost, but still shook his opponent's hand and the pat on the back as he walked away. Seems like he did what just about anyone would do if they had just lost a close game.
That's actually pretty nice of him, isn't it? He got her the photo before calling attention to the rules that everyone is expected to follow? The jerk move would have been to call over the official without posing first.
Nor did I accuse you of saying anything of the sort. Yes, the author of the article chose the words "ratted her out" ... but rules enforcement is what the officials are there for. He's not the bad guy when she can't follow instructions.

I get the feeling that he was upset with himself, not his opponent.
He shook his opponents hand. Apologized for his reaction. Patted his opponent on the back (congrats and good game).
But he was still frustrated with himself.
Not his finest moment, but as someone who is really hard on themselves, I've been there. I get it.
JStengah
Not good vibrations, but at least good sportsmanship.

He even apologized

No one said he did something wrong. Just the vibes aren't so good

Iirc he'd realized he'd fucked up badly, and in a silly way for that level of play, and was super pissed with himself not his opponent.
WhyUAlwaysLying79
100% and Magnus is well know to do things like this. I think he's bored.
UmmonPrime
Will that get you DQ from the tournament?

It did for a Pokemon tournament winner, and he was more subdued than Magnus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m40UvM13lJ4

I don’t really see anything wrong with it either. Seems odd to call it out when it’s an anti cheating rule
Ilovetomakestuffup
yeah, she didn't even got disqualified because the match didn't began yet. He basically did this for her own "safety"
