I think they think there's a contingent of women, married to MAGA men, who aren't voting the same way as their husbands. And they want to shut those women down. There was a lot of bitching last time about women voting against their husbands. Maybe they even have data on it. Regardless, they're trying to stop those women, and it doesn't hurt that it'll stop a lot of other women as well. Since they don't want women to be voting at all.

My worry is that even if Democrats take over, the voters will pick establishment types who have completely failed to meet the moment, and will continue to do so in exchange for concessions that even George H Bush would have found to be too right-wing
