Oh the title of the movie is 'Unthinkable'.
I think I'll go for a walk and listen to cheerful music before I sleep. I don't want nightmares.

I don’t blame you

That's not a good movie at any time, but now especially not in the current climate. Might I suggest something like Kpop Demon Hunters? Or the 1999 Mummy?

What about Pistachio Wars?

I can sit through a movie and I have diagnosed ADHD, enjoy the night terrors

I did not have night terrors, but I did have an unpleasant dream about being stuck on a trip with a former bible thumper friend.

And that's why it's a spectrum.
Not everyone who has the condition will have it in the same levels for the same things.
For example some people in school will struggle because they don't do well in that kind of structured environment, but others that structure will help them focus. Both can have ADHD but can be wildly different in how it likes to fuck with them.

Yeah that makes sense, my grandma's ADHD made it to where she couldn't sit still or pay attention for an entire movie but also made her a compulsive social butterfly

My Niece is undiagnosed, but it's clear as day when you are around her. Yet, her teachers never see it, because it doesn't show up during class, because the structure helps her focus. So many of her teachers don't see it, because it just doesn't present in that environment. But at home, it's front and centre, because it's not as structured. But for many others it's the reverse they thrive in unstructured environments and are dying in structured ones. I went to school with many of the latter.

One of the reasons ADHD and Autism still go under diagnosed in women is because of presentation and diagnostic criteria and gender and racial biases in both medicine and home care. Having spaces to unmask are incredibly important because masking to avoid ridicule is a learned behavior and is very stressful and draining. Diagnosis can lead to better understanding of comorbidities and untreated whether through medicine or therapy and tools can lead to the adoption of more comorbidities. 1/2

I am not a doctor this is not medical advice but if you/ your nieces parents or anyone you expect to be on a neurodivergent spectrum has the means and opportunity for assessment, I would as an individual on multiple neurodivergent spectrum recommended assessment. I know from personal experience living with one can be difficult due to a lot of people's misunderstanding and lack of empathy to how stressful it can be. Having tools and methods for dealing with thing you struggle with is important2/3

While that is true, that's not the case in the example I was talking about. As her school is exceptionally accommodating and experienced with dealing with kids like this. And go out of their way to accommodate the children and the families. Their school and teachers are multicultural with more students from non-white background than white ones. Conditions like ADHD and Austin can be extremely environmentally triggered. Some people do better with structure and others do not. It can be that simple
