1. Anonymous isn't a collective group with cohesive communication and goals its a general term used by whoever wants to use it to "mask" their identity and shroud their actions as a part of a larger movement.
2. Almost everyone associated with Anonymous got really into stonks and crypto. You can trace the accounts (WHAT TRACE THEM? THEY ARE ANONYMOUS) sure, except when they post from the same Reddit accounts for years...

8chan is more closely tied to Qanon, but yes it did get its start on 4chan. Anonymous and 4chan haven't really been linked since about... 2011? In the intervening years, Anonymous has had a lot more of a European focus and anti-corruption focus, implying a different group of people taking up the mantle. This Mockingjay-wielding group also seems to be a new generation. So by my reckoning, we are now 2 generations of hacktivists removed from 4chan.
