Another depressed Imigurian I guess..

Mar 5, 2018 4:28 AM

I've been struggling with my weight for years. Never been very successful. I know what I have to do, however the last 6 months have been extremely stressful, both at work and home. I've started drinking, a lot, on an almost nightly basis. Hell, I'm probably a little drunk now. That snowballs everything.

I've tried professional help, still going too. But it's not enough. I'm so stressed after work I can't do anything, my family thinks I'm weak and it's my fault. I don't know how to cope anymore. I've seen first hand what severe alcoholism does, with my uncle. I'm not going down that road.

Short of a bullet to the head, I need a real solution. Yes I know willpower isn't transferable, but fuck I'm about to lose it. I don't know what to do.....

30 minutes a day is all it takes to start losing weight

I’m not one to give advice to someone about willpower. Maybe a change of career to something much more active would help. I wish you luck.

Go keto, drop weight, feel better, fart harder, yeet, repeat.

You say willpower isn't transferable, but it can be to a point if you get someone to push your ass.

Start of with small goals to achieve. It's far easier to string smaller goals together than just having a big one. Easier to stay motivated.

Go to Mexico and get a gastric sleeve for around 5k. Best decision ever.

Whats your personality like, your interests, your hobbies?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I'm an introverted loner. I work in a factory driving a forklift. No hobbies because I work nights. Interests are too numerous to list.

Jail is a highly effective free rehab facility

Incremental change buddy. Small steps. Don’t go on crazy diet just make one meal healthier. Don’t go on crazy workouts go for a walk /1

Every 2-3 days. Don’t try to lose 10 lb a week lose 1/4 or something small. Next year will come and go. Just aim to be better not perfect

I have struggled with depression weight and motivation myself. Injured back and started small changes. They add up over time

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Small changes give you lots of successes and are easily trackable.

Give keto a shot. Going to seriously limit your drinking though so...

Thought about it, seriously. But until I find something else that helps me wind down and decompress, that isn't a schedule 1 narcotic 1/2

I don't know what to do. Nothing against cannabis, I just can't stand the smell personally.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Depends on where you are but there are better options, not that I use it (don't care either way). Also, keto can alter your state of mind. 1

Since it is a biological change in how your body uses energy so needs time to roll over. I'm not preaching though, you do you. 3

Just find something that works so you can get out of your rut! :) 4

It has increased my energy levels, improved my mood and fixed my focus issues. Might be worth a shot but you have to dedicate 3-4 weeks. 2

I seriously improved my health last year by "shaving". For example I still go to 5 guys but rather than a double bacon cheese burger 1/

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I just get a single patty bacon cheeseburger. Tastes the same, still just as satisfied after but I save 150ish calories. It's super easy 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Seriously this makes a huge difference

You can’t deprive yourself of everything you like. Just be smart and make better choices. Good advice

"Easy", sorry that's not fair for me to say. If it works for you, great. Food and booze are my only outlets. It's tough not to overeat.

If you lose weight and get in shape your will be the bearded clam. That’s zero calories. And taste good.

Hey give it a chance or don't. The worse everyone else looks the better I look lol.
