Only his violin and a loop machine. Sadly the video doesn't do him justice but he was amazing!!

Edit: now that I know other people are as impressed as I was - the only way to find him on his sign was his Instagram - camnicholsonmusic if you want to go check him out!

someone needs to trim this so it loops in a way that is musically sound.

His feet: "IM HELPING, LOOK AT ME"

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, beautiful melbin.

Melbourne. Rhymes with Brisbane. Coz Australia.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s what I look like when I have to pee.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks to Vine I can't hear this without "dick, suck a dick, suck a dick, suck a motherfucking dick"

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Oh nah... that's sad for you lol

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well the music is nice, but I hate him for jumping around like a chicken on speed

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I liked it better when there weren't so many loops. Decent tho

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Ya my thoughts exactly I don’t find this sounds good at all near the end, too much going on

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's also my fault with my shitty sound. It sounded 100x better and clearer in real life

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can I just say that I really appreciate that he's holding the bow at the proper placement for a baroque piece?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Were baroque bows shorter? BTW I only ask because my teacher was describing a violin he's bought and restored that he thinks is from 1600's.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

From what I recall from my orchestra days, they were shorter and so when we perform baroque pieces it is customary to choke up on the bow

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, Canon... divine if you hit the right version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlprozGcs80

Academy of St Martin in the Fields conducted by Sir Neville Marriner ... like peering into heaven https://youtu.be/aLKm5txgRmw

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have we just collectively, as a society, agreed to pretend you don’t need the bow to touch the violin to produce sound?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apparently

Melbourne has some amazing buskers. My husband and i went there in june and they where outstanding!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Incredible!! There's also an amazing piano player on Bourke st sometimes as well

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also i have that exact shirt he is wearing.

(1)At one point in my town centre, there was a band of these 4 older dudes (Greek or Turkish maybe) and they just done like jazzy renditions

6 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

(2)Or swing of classic tracks, I really enjoyed them everytime and realised how great people just sharing their passion publicly was when

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Some old man, 60s probably, came over with his little granddaughter, under 5, and danced with her. Pure joy on all involved faces.

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

I love everything about this ❤

Buska Rhymes

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To busk in that location you have to pass an audition.

I just absolutely love how much of a trance he is in. He is involved and I just love seeing that. This is great.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know it was a joy to watch!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Bryson Andres is another talented one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HrKHAsnkF8A

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

While we're sharing, I found these two also in Melbourne https://youtu.be/R">FqcLzSDo">https://youtu.be/RRLFqcLzSDo https://youtu.be/i9pcdeJGG_k

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like them! Not a violinist, but he is an Australian loop artist. He uses his voice. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HKEmaPj935M

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just like the rest of Australia, he is on fire.

6 years ago | Likes 218 Dislikes 1

Yes, haha! Hahahahahelp.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You gotta be in tune with your environment.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's great but the hot girl doing it in heels is better.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good burn

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

That’s what the koalas said

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You kids +1

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I played in symphonies for years. Played many pieces. I absolutely detest this one piece. Viola plays same 8 notes for the entirety.

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I’ve seen child buskers play better than that

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never personally understood the fascination with it, it's just kind of boring

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Meanwhile the bass players are crying, trying to stay awake.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s corny!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah I've made people cry with Canon in D but it's not difficult to play or particularly moving to me personally.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Falling asleep at my music stand... Lol

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Welcome to viola 101, learning how to count the same notes over and over".

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Lol but I love playing pieces, for example, written by Vivaldi. Yes, the notes are repetitive. But it's so much more exciting to play!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. Especially 5, and 3. 3's my favorite. Also love playing St. Paul's Suite, by Gustav Holst.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see you are in Melbourne

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess we really do know your secret now!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh bless... that's sweet.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve always lived by the policy that if you stop to listen to the busker, you tip the busker.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Sometimes I don't stop to listen to a busker I really enjoy because I have no change on me, and that makes me sad.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Same here. In Singapore there are multiple buskers near my office. Quality artists, but I rarely carry the $1 coin. So I mosey along, sadly.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I bought his CD ?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good on you!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like quite a few people dropped a dollary-do or two in his case

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I used to work in the department store behind the busker , that busker wasn't there then.

6 years ago | Likes 104 Dislikes 2

I used to work at the department store in front of the busker!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Shout out for Bourke st!

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Hi I'm the busker I always played mon-fri 3-6pm except on weekdays that's my time off

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Brilliant!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Prove it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about the Peruvian pan flute guy? He's been around for ages!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hello fellow Melbournian :)

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh hi ?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are dozens of us!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where in Melb are you from?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Originally from Bentleigh, currently suffering in Bendigo. I tried to move back a couple of years ago, didn't work out.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh I went to Bendigo for a wedding in Sept & I thought it was beautiful haha

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The way he walks around makes me nervous. Does he need to go to the toilet

6 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 4

he probably does this for *hours* humans are better built for walking than standing.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not the potty dance; that's just the regular dance - as said by my 3yr old.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As a performer, I gotta say, no one wants to watch us just stand there

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's counting beats to keep time with the music. I used to rock my head while playing but he's bouncing all around

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

IDK, whenever I am concentrating hard on something I start to build up nervous energy and need to start moving or I can't focus

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's this and tempo. I have to move while playing guitar or I lose the beat.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not necessary. He just has a bad habit of moving too much.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Why is it a bad habit?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Moving like that is unnecessary & can be distracting; also counterproductive to good tone/timing. (Am violin instructor)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So as a violin instructor, can you give a good reason why this habit is bad other than personal bias?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Boss RC50 loopstation, for those wondering.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I wasn't. But thanks.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I had no idea but +1 for the information lol

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought it was rc300

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is definitely rc300, it has the volume pedal, rc50 doesn't.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not a rc 300?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Could be either, but I'm guessing if he's busking it's a 50.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rc50 doesn't have the volume pedal, rc309 does. This is rc300

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*rc300

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, good point. Busking with a violin should have been a clue that he's not busking due to dire straits.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rich play the violin, poor play da fiddle
