I'm confused, they are already in it? Taliban re-took Afghanistan after we left. They are the Afghan army now.

I was talking more in the sense that the Taliban might start doing ye ol proxy work for either side, which wouldnt exactly be that rare for the ME

I think you confusing the US-Iran war with the Pakistan-Afghanistan war, both of which are ongoing. The Taliban is presently engaged in an active war with Pakistan, I doubt they’ll be doing any fighting in Iran.
And even if they did, it would be against Iran. They’ve already had a few border skirmishes
